How about a craftable night vision potion. Make it last for say 30 to 60 minutes.
It would allow you to see the entire area like it was without darkness.

I've had the same problems with this pest. I've found a great way to thwart him.
I use a no pvp token and just stand there. It really frustrates him much to my enjoyment.
I can then go about my playing and he can choke on his own bile!

I've had a similar event. I was checking my pack when an afk check came up just as I
switched to the game screen and the afk check was gone. I don't know now if this will count against
me as being afk.
