Fear is freedom! Subjugation is liberation! Contradiction is truth! Those are the facts of this world! And you will all surrender to them!

Re: Happy
Skins do make players very happy.
I remember grinding my butt off to hit level 70 to get my first.
I miss that feature.
Anyway, congrats

Oh yes.Ryaca wrote:You used to have to reach level 70 in order to get a new skin?
A long time ago, before special skins.
(well, technically, after the 1st implementation of special skins was removed, due to code changes)
And before purchased skins.
Players were encouraged to get on the forum, just to request a skin.
I'm actually trying to revive the idea, to get more players on the forum.
While they're here, they can read the rules. This will hopefully be a condition if the idea is re-implemented.
If you're curious about the old procedure, check this out.
Note that the forum used to have a very different background; so some of the blue text may be difficult to read.

Re: Happy
I love the idea, but I have a couple questions. What would the new conditions be for receiving the skin if re-implemented, and what skins would be allowed to be received?
Answers to these could improve the viability of this concept, as well.

This is all up to debate currently.madmaniacal1 wrote:I love the idea, but I have a couple questions. What would the new conditions be for receiving the skin if re-implemented, and what skins would be allowed to be received?

I just proposed the idea yesterday.
As for skins, it would likely be a restricted list, class based, and probably no special skins. Maybe some exclusive skins, if I can swing it.
As for conditions; well, the original idea was to get a player on to the forum.
So, a forum account would be required. You'd have to post your request, and I'd be against allowing players to post for friends.
Now, I've heard many claims that a player can not use forum.
Every reason I heard was bogus; not 1 single legitimate reason.
You need a web browser. Pretty sure every device that can run FT has a browser built in.
You need an email. Those are free, in many places on the internet.
But there is another reason we want players on the forum. We want them to read the rules.
So, I'm trying to incorporate some way of including that as a requirement for getting a "free" skin.
The simplest idea is, a random question about a rule.
Now, not everyone speaks English. Translations for those we have official translators for are in the works, for the new rules.
But, I'm proposing, say a few minutes to answer any said quiz on the rules. Maybe 5 or even 10.
This way, a player could use a translator on the rules if needed.
The player may also ask their friends. Why not?
They'll have to read the rule, then repeat it. That's a method of learning too.
Anyway, still in the brainstorming stage, among a ton of other discussions and votes going on right now.
But hey, why not get the community in on ideas?
