Haha wow
That was an awesome adventure - glad GOLGREN was able to help you experience this.
And your story-telling just adds so much flavour to it - nicely done.

-- and thanks for getting that song stuck in my head. Yes, it's been a fave of mine since I was a child, and didn't understand it's meaning.

Glad you enjoyed the write up, it pales to the experience though. :)

Good song and one of my favourites back in the day too.

Really off topic here, but Frankie Valli 's The Night is an absolutely belting tune. The Night for the knight. Maybe not that much off topic actually:)

Started the day in Castle M - walked out into the middle of an attack ... parked my pets and joined in, by the end I had no empty slots and using the red X to drop stuff on the screen ... tried to give away siege weapons, that quest is done for me, no takers - dumped them.

Went to map 0,0 (like someone dared to do once) and put out a public call that I had lvl 1 weapons to give away FREE and waited for the onslaught. Darn flies were thick, swatting them away a dozen at a time, must be all the wolf cadavers laying about but that was it; no takers. So I went to K-town and sold them and saw a System warning "Ashdown being attacked" Great went Ashdown, parked my pets in the corner and went to play "tank" for new players.

And there they were; two players, spaced just right, on the beach, fishing, where the ships were unloading pirates. The two guys speaking Martian for all I know, both with lvl's 1000+ sucking up the pirates and popping up yellow smilie faces and jibbering back and forth (joking about it for all I know) and two poor little knights and a fairy couldn't get a single kill in.

So! I unparked my pets and brought them into the fray, putting myself as close as I could and grabbing loot and coin as fast as I could. When they saw I wasn't leaving they pulled all the pirates they could around me and departed, so sad, on purpose? Donno, it would be a natural thing from leaving I would think. My pets survived easily, I stayed to the end, collecting the coins, kept a bunch of swords and and all the health I could. ALMOST filled my empty spaces, I had dropped swords for health. With health, a lower level player can last longer and hunt for and get swords, gaining EXP point along the way.

When it was over "knight(8)", I'm guessing he was afraid of me and my pets: RAN. The fairy was long gone by this time as well, but I found a "knight(5)" (K5) near the scene, so I gave him my stash.

K5: Why you help me? my english not good.
LK: Because people helped me in the beginning
K5: so I help others when I level up?
LK: I hope so. swords first, come to store, so you can sell ... tell me when you are full ... (time)
K5: full
LK: OK sell .. I have more. tell me when done (did this twice)
K5: done
LK: OK now health ... how many empty slots.
K5: 19 but one good. =D
LK: give health - then we go to bank.
K5: Bank?
LK: yea --> I then filled him with health and showed him the path to the bank.

Got a really good feeling when I read "WOW 20 more spaces - thank you"

LK: Fill the bank with health, I have more for you ... and gave him ALL the +50HP I had ...

Took him to bank store ...

PM: you got 150? buy helmet
K5: done
LK: xxx buy sword (I checked prices first)
K5: done
LK: xxx buy legs
K5: done

Then I bought him the "life regen bracelet" and "earrings"
Why: - JUST BECAUSE! Just because he had the right attitude!

He was HAPPY! And parted with an "I help others!"

Made my day!

I think that unless tanking for someone, taking part in the 'Ashdown under attack' scenario is pointless for anyone above LVL 50 or so (maybe even lower?). The xp is negligible, the drops are worthless and it is a bit of a waste of time all round.

I applaud you for your game play, Lost knight. Those 3 lower level characters would have been frustrated and the 1k+ players you mention should be embarrassed, as the way they set up their pets suggests they were there to disrupt gameplay rather than help others as you did.
