This is NOT an Official Code of Conduct for FT.

It is apparent however that after a year and five months of playing it has become:

LostKnight's Code of Chivalry
for Knights without a Clan

Quoting Leone from the A good idea? thread, page 2, but read the whole thread, fun stuff.
Leone wrote:I remember that. Was it the Knights Society, or am I mixing them up with what you're saying?
We need that a "Knight's Society" I mean - for Knights without a Clan ... found this in wikipedia: Chivalry
Sir Thomas Malory (c. 1405 - March 14th, 1471) was an English writer, who wrote a book based on the legend of King Arthur. It was called Le Morte d'Arthur. In it, he wrote his version of the Code of Chivalry:
So I modified it ... it will become LostKnight's Code of Chivalry when fully tweaked*, also to be know as:

The Code of Chivalry for Knights without a Clan
Ω The sworn enemies of FT are our sworn enemies.
· · · (PvM)'s = sworn enemies - simple

Ω To never do outrage nor murder
· · · do not instigate a PvP
· · · if done so in error - die with honour if you cannot escape
· · · · · a knight resurrected will be wiser.

Ω To always flee treason
· · do not commit treason; a crime against FT (Rules of the Game)
· · · · · and there lies my loyalty

Ω To by no means be cruel but to give mercy unto him who asks for mercy
· · · do not be mean, grant mercy to those who ask, even in combat
· · · · if a sworn enemy asks for mercy; grant it (yea yea ... and a blacksmith won't sit on a roof either)

Ω To always do ladies, gentlewomen, widows and any loyal FT subjects succor
· · · succor = help; this means that the knight must promise to help if they need it.
· · · · a sworn enemy is never considered a lady, gentlewoman, nor widow

Ω To never force ladies, gentlewomen or widows
· · · never 'harm' a lady, gentlewomen or widow.
· · · · unless they attack you first, then they are considered enemies!

Ω To consider any Knight without a clan an 'Ally' until proven different
· · · the only proof: they attacked you!

Ω Not to take up battles in wrongful quarrels for love or worldly goods
· · do not even join in fights over anything less than protection of the FT world
· · · ie: The system wide calls for help at Ashdown or M's Castle

NOTE:
  • The "Code" comprises of the lines with Ω
  • Lines starting with: · are just for clarification
This is NOT Official for FT ... IT IS MY CODE! ... feel free to adopt or not!

I'm loving the idea so far... just be careful...
I love the medieval theme, but don't get too carried away (or you might offend someone)...

That said, keep in mind the gender thing... some of FT's fiercest warriors are female.... and I would not cross them.

And... the borderline thing of God... in your post it's fine, it's more an general expletive than something specific... just don't go overboard.

Good luck to those honourable knights!

only the lines with Ω apply

... the following are to explain so that last line with God can be removed. I was a bit hmmm about it as well but it came from the original written in the 1800's.

EDIT: And last line edited.

Sir Knight, who shall be Merlin to thine Arthur?
And who thine Guinevere and Lancelot?

Let us establish fair Camelot in these forgotten lands.

For I fain would have this enterprise succeed, not forasmuch that we should gain reknown, but that we ourselves would uphold our own honour, and set a banner and an Excelsior that would draw divers others to such gentle chivalrye.

Ever thy servant,
The Honourable Aurora Stormchylde (Btss)

I am no Sir, for I have no King. I am but a humble knight.
Lost and loyal to the Realm.

Be there a King and Arthur his name, Guinevere is his to woo,
I would not interfere in such things, for the heart is mightier than the sword.

I pray Merlin will show his staff and beard when time most appropriate.
We hope it is the most favourable of times that he comes to rejoice.

I am, however, honoured to have you by my side m'lady,
You are no servant of mine, but as an ally and friend I accept.

Unit123 was a firm believer in what you say.

There's a FT group on fb called knights society. May still be active?

For what i could see, a sort of no-written code already exists.

Greetings :)

This may well be true and I have been doing my best to live the way of Chivalry since joining.

To uphold the code is a mighty task.
Many have tried, and ultimately failed.
I, myself, fall into that category, though this isn't the place to discuss that.
Most lack the perseverance, patience, and dignity to hold true to the course. The "Knight's Society" was one of those groups. Their initial ideals were nearly identical to the code you have set forth. Unfortunately, they grew jaded, as their path grew darker. They are now all but forgotten, although some still claim the name.

May your path find the light as the world darkens, my friend. When the world brings no light for you, let the light in your heart show others the path.
