When I was in kindergarten kids were hanging upside down on the monkey bars singing a song by some British group* now how did that go? I wanna hold your han.an.and I wanna hold your hand!

* For those living in a cave (not to be confused with the Trogs) I refer to the Beatles.

Tonight I feel like the world won't miss me
So much to say but there's no one listening
If we're alone are we all together in that

I threw a penny in a well for wishing
Prayed for all the things I think I'm missing
A little time is all I really need

I am doing the best I can with everything I am
Don't you know nobody's perfect
Do you understand how hard I'm trying to do
The best I can
The best I can

A second chance to give you something
It takes a lifetime to come from nothing
I refuse to believe in running away, no

I am doing the best I can with everything I am
Don't you know nobody's perfect
Do you understand how hard I'm trying for you
I am doing the best I can with everything I am
Don't you know I think you're worth it
Do you understand how hard I'm trying to do the best I can
The best I can

I got a picture of what matters and I keep it close to my heart
It's a little faded but so am I

Cause I am doing the best I can with everything I am
Don't you know nobody's perfect
Do you understand how hard I'm trying for you
I am doing the best I can with everything I am
Don't you know I think you're worth it
Do you understand how hard I'm trying to do the best I can
The best I can
The best I can
The best I can

And I'm doing, oh I'm doing the best I can
I am, I'm doing the best, oh the best I can
The best I can, oh the best I can
Oh I keep doing, keep trying
Old soldiers never die, they just fade away.

Misery Loves My Company

Post by madmaniacal1 »

I am in control
I haven't lost my mind
I am picking up the pieces
Of the past you left behind

I don't need your condescending
Words about me looking lonely
I don't need your arms to hold me
Cause misery is waiting on me

I am not alone
Not beaten down just yet
I am not afraid
Of the voices in my head
Down the darkest road
Something follows me
I am not alone
Cause misery loves my company
Misery loves my company

Leave me in the cold
You better run away
I'm gonna dig a hole
And bury all the memories we've made

I don't need your condescending
Words about me looking lonely
I don't need your arms to hold me
Cause misery is waiting on me

I am not alone
Not beaten down just yet
I am not afraid
Of the voices in my head
Down the darkest road
Something follows me
I am not alone
Cause misery loves my company
Misery loves my company

I am not alone
Not beaten down just yet
I am not afraid
Of the voices in my head
Down the darkest road
Something follows me
I am not alone
Cause misery loves my company

Misery loves my company

Livin' easy
Lovin' free
Season ticket on a one way ride
Askin' nothin'
Leave me be
Takin' everythin' in my stride
Don't need reason
Don't need rhyme
Ain't nothin' that I'd rather do
Goin' down
Party time
My friends are gonna be there too

I'm on the highway to hell
On the highway to hell
Highway to hell
I'm on the highway to hell

No stop signs
Speed limit
Nobody's gonna slow me down
Like a wheel
Gonna spin it
Nobody's gonna mess me around
Hey satan
Payin' my dues
Playin' in a rockin' band
Hey mumma
Look at me
I'm on the way to the promised land

I'm on the highway to hell
Highway to hell
I'm on the highway to hell
Highway to hell
Don't stop me

I'm on the highway to hell
On the highway to hell
Highway to hell
I'm on the highway to hell
(Highway to hell) I'm on the highway to hell
(Highway to hell) highway to hell
(Highway to hell) highway to hell
(Highway to hell)
And I'm goin' down
All the way
I'm on the highway to hell

Walking through the darkness, i shall not fear , the moon my light, my shadow is the only one that walks beside me and some stars guide my path .

This makes me very sad....I guess I don't understand this thread. Is it to honor a favorite song or group or is it a masked call for help or both? We are drawn to what touches us inside and that can say alot. I have my own demons and my own misery so I am not condemning anyone. I hope all who contribute here find peace and resolve. :)

Definitely both. My posts are usually a song I like, or how I feel, or something I think someone else might need to hear.
On a side note, witch's post was well timed for me. As I got in my car to go to work this morning, Highway to Hell was the first song on the radio. LOL

And for me, timely for some feelings of late.
Just gotta remember there is a destination point and or a turn in the 'highway' ahead.

However yesterday and this morning I was hit with: War by Edwin Starr.

And I thought - I'm going to make it reflect Forgotten Tales: Replace War with PvP! ;)

"PvP"

PvP, huh, yeah
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing, uh-huh, uh-huh

PvP, huh, yeah
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing, say it again, y'all

PvP, huh, good god
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing, listen to me

Oh PvP, I despise
'Cause it means destruction of innocent lives
PvP means tears to thousands of mothers' eyes
When their sons go off to fight and lose their lives

I said, PvP, huh, good god, y'all
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing, say it again

PvP, huh, whoa-oh-whoa-oh, Lord
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing, listen to me

PvP, it ain't nothing but a heartbreak
PvP, friend only to the undertaker

Oh, PvP, is an enemy to all mankind
The thought of PvP blows my mind
PvP has caused unrest within the younger generation
Induction then destruction, who wants to die?

Oh, PvP, huh, good god, y'all
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing, say it, say it, say it

PvP, huh, uh-huh, yeah, uh
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing, listen to me

PvP, it ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
PvP, it got one friend, that's the undertaker

Oh, PvP has shattered many a young man's dreams
Made him disabled, bitter and mean
Life is much too short and precious to spend fighting PvPs these days
PvP can't give life, it can only take it away

Oh, PvP, huh, good god, y'all
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing, say it again

PvP, huh, whoa-oh-whoa-oh, Lord
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing, listen to me

PvP, it ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
PvP, friend only to the undertaker

Peace, love and understanding, tell me
Is there no place for them today?
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But lord knows there's got to be a better way

Oh, PvP, huh, good god, y'all
What is it good for?
You tell me, (nothing) say it, say it, say it, say it

PvP, huh, good god, yeah, huh
What is it good for?
Stand up and shout it (nothing)

OK NOW I feel better!

@mad Thanks that clarifies it... sometimes the coincidence of life mean wakeup cause something is afoot.

I remember well the War song...

My fault for considering the words too much without thinking about how the song may move us...even in a direction perhaps different than the lyrics. I now return this thread to it's original intent...post away!

"To Be A Man (Remix)"

I can't hide myself
I don't expect you to understand
I just hope I can explain
What it's like to be a man
It's a lonely road
And they don't care 'bout what you know
It's not 'bout how you feel
But what you provide inside that home

Bein' a man is what you make it
You can't always live up to expectations
You try to please everybody while you struggle, so you fake it
And end up out of balance, compromisin' situations
As a good man, a do what he should man
A give everything he has and do everything he could man
You might find yourself feelin' all alone
Inside a house you built that you don't recognize as home
And that's what my daddy told me and I'll tell my son the same
Now that I'm older, I relate and I actually feel his pain
He never cried, he mighta lied, but he did not complain
And he said, "Son, one day, you'll have to do the same
I get emotional when I stop I think and I look around
Beyond the county lines of my small town
I think about all the men out there who feel like I do now
Who are screamin' on the inside, but won't ever make a sound

I can't hide myself
I don't expect you to understand
I just hope I can explain
What it's like to be a man
It's a lonely road
And they don't care 'bout what you know
It's not 'bout how you feel
But what you provide inside that home

Don't give up, keep fightin'
As a man, our son is our horizon
And our fathers' actions play a role and we end up like him
So they can't let us see them hurt
'Cause we'll embody what they do and start a generational curse
No wonder most men are so depressed
All the things that they can't express
They go to war, get thrown on the shelf
Then go back to war with they mental health
Then grab that bottle and ask for help
Try to pull themselves out of hell
Then fall back down and then realize
That they gon' have to do it themselves

It's the circle of life, as a man, you provide
They don't know what you're worth 'til the day that you die
And that's when they start cryin'
Then move on to a man to confide in

That's why we feel we can't hide ourselves
We don't expect you to understand
We just hope we can explain
What it's like to be a man
It's a lonely road
And you don't care 'bout what we know
It's not 'bout how we feel
But what we provide inside that home
That home
It's not 'bout how we feel
But what we provide inside that home
