Clan wait time

I am curious. Why exactly was a 47 hour waiting period put in place when someone leaves a clan? I've tried to think of all of the angles but I can't think of anyway this could be abused if there was no wait time. Please enlighten me...

2 days=48hours. After leaving clan you have to wait 47 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds but only the hours will be printed.

The 48 hour delay happened because people were unclanning in the middle of clan wars to either make opponents outlaw and /or taking advantage of being unclanned while being disarmed so as not to be targeted by nearby enemy buildings and guards, and then rejoining clan to start siege and/or repair. This was happening several times a day, sometimes even several times an hour!
The 48 hour delay prevents clan hopping and abuse of system mechanics
