i am not saying that you can not buy a house there, i just think that your house should be a few steps away so that you can not mine and access your house at the same time. Because my house is behind a wall I can stay outside of the walls and access my house without auto-walking to my house. This enables me to mine (basic rock), chop, and even fish on the east side. That is HARDLY the same situation as a resources spot, even though the function is much the same. It is the same reason that players want houses outside of that particular carbon room.
That should be a function of "every house" then if you can do it because of a wall.
Walls and doors have crazy features.
You, and others, can access your house through/over one.
- everyone should have this ability from a distance then.
Mages and archers can fight through/over them
- no one should have this ability, it's a wall, a portcullis, a door!

Houses next to trees, rocks or water. No problem as they are available pretty much everywhere.
Resources are a different case. Every player should have access to these. They are needed for quests and crafting and , in some cases, selling.
Reducing game play experience? If a mining resource is blocked, then quite possibly I'd say.
