Re: Version 6.5.3 released!
I wrote this in minichat when the joke was revealed:
Some were angry, but most seemed to take it in good spirits.
Some started making their own jokes.
Not everyone reads the forum regularly; I'm happy if they read the forum at all - it's a start
So, there may be a player now and then that still falls for this - it could happen months from now even.
Have a little laugh, sure - but keep in mind it's meant to be good fun, and try not to hurt anyone's feelings.
The idea of changing class, while it won't happen, is still something many do occasionally wish for.
The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence
(This saying makes a lot of sense, if you actually test it irl).
That said, many did in fact fall for this joke.MadMikael wrote:I hope, that everyone will realize that this bit of fun was made in good spirits, and a type of event of sorts. It will not happen often (once a year at most). The good sides were, many forum registrations today, as well as players communicating to try and figure things out - players who would not normally speak to each other. In some ways, it brought the community closer together, and I hope you can see merit in that.

I have a pretty dumb question about PvP protection with personal houses. I get that if you're standing in front of your house you have protection, and you could fish/mine/cut your own house if it so allows, but what if I'm mining several spaces away but "in" my house doing some forging or the like? Is it distance, or using for house purposes that gives the protection?

The PvP protection is ranged based. So, it's only in effect within a certain radius.SellSword wrote: ↑Wed Apr 11, 2018 11:23 pm I have a pretty dumb question about PvP protection with personal houses. What you're looking at on your screen matters not.
If somehow, you were outside of this range, yet "in your house" screen, you could be attacked.

Changing to an archer was fun for awhile, but I'm glad I changed back before compbatant stopped the option!
