We have night 6 times a days. 1 hour night, 3 hours day, 1 hour night, 3 hours days, etc.
There is also sunrise and sunset for 10 minutes each.
In dungeons dark is all the time.
To have more light you can craft torch or camp fire.
I hope you enjoy it :)
I am thinking also about idea that some weapons and armors should give extra light too.
I LOVE this! Awesome addition to the game. The campfires look amazing and the Holiday trees look super cool as well. Nicely done!

The entrance to Hobbs Gold Mine it lit up! Hobb Gold mine is dark!

Now check out old movies ... ALL mines had torches on the walls.

But I am not finished there ....

The houses in Ardesia ... are dark! Houses = windows = daylight and houses in days of old had torches or candles or "cooking fires" ... why are these dark!

The business establishments, Taverns, Shipping Company, Churches and the Shops - ALL DARK!!!!
If you are on map which shouldn't be dark like houses interiors note it and send PM to me. Please give exact name. With these I can easy make them bright again.

Personally I don't like that. But that's me.

Campfire = 3 trunks - lasts 5 minutes
Torch = 1 trunk - lasts X minutes, probably 5, and gives MORE light than a campfire.

Hmmm Camp fires last 5 minutes that's 12 campfires for 1 hour and requires 36 logs, at the new rate: 12 trees.

A torch requires 1 trunk and give more light that a campfire.

Something does not compute.
Torch light seems about right ...
Camp fire should be 3 times the size of a torch light (x3 trunks) and last twice as long.

Dungeons are dark all the time. Are you putting trees in them?
Imagine a mage with no pets going in to grind, need 12 torches of the 15 spaces in his bag to see.
What about drops?

How about increasing the basic bag by 10 spaces to accommodate the fact people have to carry fire with them.
I'd suggest like pets, they use a space but not in the "20 bag limit" fill a bag and the pets are in slots 21 and 22. (With a basic bag)

You need only one space for one torch so don't panic ;)
Torches don't have time limit to not make them annoying.
Campfires have time limits because without them the maps would be completely covered in campfires after few hours. They need to disappear after some time.
That's why also it is harder to make campfires then torches. To not spam with them whole maps.
It is game so not everything is the same as in real world. If we want it be more realistic then making torch would require at least: trunk, pitch and fabric.
To make pitch we would need.... bla bla bla. It would be all very complicated.

Is this one torch that lasts until the next server reset? Barring the need for maintenance it would be one real world day per torch? Personally, I think that would be fine.

At some point a player probably logged in to find himself in the minotaur maze in the dark without a torch...

That would be hilarious to hear about! :lol:

Yea, they are already being used to block the bridges at map 0.0

The torch went out as I doused the flame (clicked an icon!) rather than it burnt itself out.
