Closing Trade Bug Abuse Case

Some weeks ago FT has been the place of a Bug Abuse case.
For a few days, the trade system had a weakness allowing players abusing it and duplicating game items.
The news spread, and some players did abuse the bug, generating a huge amount of high level items and of purchasable items.
It took some time before someone decided reporting about it.
The bug has been fixed, and several characters went jailed because they had been found guilty of duplicating items.
The GM team has been busy for weeks, investigating on those who abused the bug.
This created a huge (and I mean HUGE) amount of work for the staff, which as a consequence did:
(1) damage all honest players, who had not been helped as they normally would
(2) slow down new contents testing and releasing
(3) generate a work overload for staff members
What had in fact been doing all players who abused the bug?
They created new and illegal copies of high level and of purchasable items. In huge amounts.
This is not only a violation of rule 8 (yes, you can read it here).
This is a violation of real life laws. It is stealing.
They've stolen goods. They damaged the game and compbatant, a real money damage. A real life criminal offence.
It is possible that compbatant will decide reporting them to real world authorities and to Google Play.
I don't know that, it is up to him.
The game staff is dealing with the in-game situation.
The characters who has been found guilty of abusing the bug will not be released. Ever.
They are not simply characters: they are avatars of real world persons.
They have been used by human players who stole stuff.
We don't like that.
These players stole goods, abused bugs, caused damages and generated huge work overload.
They are not welcome in this game.
Real world shops often have cameras, recording events.
Online games run on a computer, and guess what? Computers have memory storing events data.
Thanks to the huge work of the game staff, we have been able tracking down the characters abusing the bug and their alts.
They are now all jailed.
None of them is going to be released.
We divided the abusers in two groups:
* main abusers -> permanent jailing for the characters abusing the bug and for all alts of them
* minor abusers -> permanent jailing for the characters actually abusing the bug
The character who was completely innocent and was jailed for investigation has been released and compensated for the inconvenience.
A small number of players helped us by reporting the bug. They also abused it, and we are now going to contact them to discuss their particular cases.
We also decided making the list of permanently jailed characters public.
It's here: look at it. You will have a clue of why we keep saying that working on this case has been a huge overload.
