I believe I have seen 24 as the maximum skill level. If you want to play the game and do other things though it might take you several months at least to get to half of that level in any one skill, so no need to worry.

One of the images I showed shows a level of 19, and my character is at 9 for fishing now, so higher than 6 is possible.

Last I checked, there wasn't technically a maximum, just like levels of accounts.
The skills are safe up to 24, and I'm told that to reach that level takes several years of playtime (as in, actually playing; like 24 hours of playtime will usually take a few days at least to achieve)
After a certain point, at level 24 or 25, you could go over the integer limit, and something bugs out, crashing the game.
I've no idea if it was fixed or not, nor is it a priority for me to find out.

On a side note, last I tested, if your hp goes over 2.147b, you die - repeatedly.
This takes several million points in ARM to accomplish though.

So then FT is just like RL, everything in it has a finite existence ... but one that will definitely outlast my RL finite existence.

Back on topic: nice to know that skill levels are way up there.

Well, now I'm scared to equip my 750+4,000,000 plate when I get to that level in case it breaks the game, or me!

I don't ever catch items over level 75. Fishing was ruined years ago by dumb people.

I believe your luck is just bad. There are many, many more items below 150 than there are AT 150. That means that most of your items are going to be lower level stuff.

I have a lvl 380 with 11+ fishing and its very random but I find the longer you fish the better the items but its always random sometimes I fish along time and get nothing.
