Where do I find these elusive beasts so I may chop its head?

I believe they are found in the second level underneath where the pterys are. Have
to repair stairs to go down.

2 types of dragons spawn there, I do believe one is the cryptic dragon

NightBaby is correct. One of the 2 dragons there drops heads, while the other has a rare chance to drop 10m gold.
