MAP BUG HUNT!

Cuddling up to a clan map as a non-clan member gets you right to the "old map" edge, you can't cross, but you are there right on the edge.

So I'll bet these will happen as well, as a non clan member:

CASE 1 <<-- this one I know about, let the tests begin!
Cuddle up to the Northern edge of 2.1 and walk East to 3.1.
Only you do not end up on the NW corner of 3.1, you end up on the SW corner of 3.2 -> YES JUST TESTED!
Oh well I was going to the library anyway, my book is overdue.

CASE 2
So I'm guessing the opposite direction here:
Cuddle up to the Northern edge of 2.1 and walk West to 1.1
Do you end up on the SW corner of 1.2 instead of 1.1 -> YES JUST TESTED!

Yea gotta figure:

CASE 3
Cuddle up to the Eastern edge of 1.2 and walk South to 1.1
Do you end up on the NW corner of 2.1 instead of 1.1 -> YES JUST TESTED!

CASE 4
Cuddle up to the Northern edge of -1.1 and walk East to 0.1
Do you end up on the SW corner of 0.2 instead of 0.1 -> YES JUST TESTED!

Reverse this one gets you locked in rocks on -1.1 (sometimes) and other times at 0.1

Heading south to 3.-3 area

CASE 5
Now this is interesting, since Map 3.-4 does not exist.
Walk to the extreme NE corner of 2.-4 (AC) and you are locked in place. Cannot go north, it would put you in 3.-3 and as a non- clan character that's a no-no. Walk West a couple of steps and POP 2.-3 because you are inside the "buffered" edge

Same deal on 2.-3 cuddle up to the clan map 3.-3 and walk South. Locked in the corner!
Walk due East a couple of steps and POP 2.-4 again

CASE 6
Cuddle up to the Eastern edge of 2.-3 and walk North to 2.-2
Do you end up on the SW corner of 3.-2 instead of 2.-2 -> YES JUST TESTED!

Same deal in reverse.
Cuddle up to the Southern edge of 3.-2 and walk West to 2.-3
Do you end up on the SW corner of 2.-4 instead of 2.-3 -> YES JUST TESTED!

Now with all this said and done I'd like to consider these as an "Undocumented Feature" and not a BUG and left as is ... a bit selfish I know.

HOWEVER and to be honest, from a coding point of view, this IS A BUG and what's causing it should be looked at.
Today's 'harmless bug'
could quite possibly be
tomorrows epidemic!

OOPS! 5 minute auto-log-off AFK just kicked in, can't test and type at the same time.
Thank goodness no GM's saw that.

This one seems new, since I've not encountered it before the last restart (Today) Hitting the SW corner into the lever room in the ancient minotaur maze (-1,-1) now ports you out to the NE corner of the regular minotaur maze above.

Actually, thankful for it, a PKer was rushing in to attack and was completely unaware of this hidden feature. They got ported away before they could get in a shot

I can see the look on his face now ...

NOW . . .

I wonder if I can get this "portal" as a "boomerang frisbee" type thing

Outta of my bag; aim; flip - "POOF!"- wobble wobble - back in hand, back in bag.

Various models for different occasions:
  • A Map 0.0 Boomerang Frisbee
  • A Boss Room HGM Boomerang Frisbee
  • A Devils Island Boomerang Frisbee, and the ultimate:
  • The Ball Room Boomerang Frisbee ... if you haven't been there yet - wait for it.

Run through (dangerous) or run round (considerably safer)?

Yes, walk calmly hugging the north, east and south walls. Too easy BUT

The Ball Room Boomerang Frisbee will drop you dead centre after spawning a few. :D

No pets or trapped pets outside the door = casual jaunt right down the middle! ;)

Even with pets safely outside the door, I stick to the outside!

Well, around. Pets parked, relatively safely outside. :P
