Did you receive the letter to take to the gravedigger? If you did and don't have it any longer you may have dropped it on accident. A GM could assist you, but there are few GMs and they are very busy, so you might have to wait a bit for them to have time. (They are also volunteers.)

If you only have a few levels you could always start again as well.

Either way, don't worry about the letter. When you get it you can continue, he simply gives you 10 gold. You will miss one other small quest in the game that the gravedigger wants done at level 5, but nothing drastic and you can continue everything else as if nothing happened.

There are definitely some things that need to be fixed. If you dropped the letter though I don't see how that is a game "error" but more a mistake on the part of the player.

There are several quest items in the game. If you get something that is not a weapon or armor you had better hold on to it. Maybe put it in storage in the bank or northern tavern. If you get rid of one of those there are some that will not be replaced.

I see that patience is a foreign concept. Learn patience.
