Repeated & random disconnects

So, I play on a Fire HD tablet and I've noticed that after random amounts of time the game will often disconnect. I've also noticed that whilst the AFK pop-up still appears on my Android phone, it does not for this particular tablet. Is it possible that the AFK check is still being performed, just without the popup and then disconnects me?
