Speed 3 tools in shops

This might be a useful gold sink with prices like 1000x the basic (speed 1) item?

With perhaps speed 2 items being sold for 100x base price?

Just a thought. You could talk to a clan and ask them to let you join long enough to craft the items that you need and then let them know that you will leave the clan as soon as you have crafted them. I know a lot of players that are in clans that have done this in the past. Believe me, they understand how it is when you need crafted items and are having a hard time getting them. I know that clans aren't your thing so maybe this could work for you.

arashiko, i love the idea, but I'd even add all the speed 1, 2 and 3 tools should be sold in shops for gold, and degrade over time until breaking (level 3 turns to level 2 after 2 hours, then level 1 after 2 more hours, then it breaks after 2 more for example) ... that'd be a gold sink (and makes sense imo)

If we go that route, the best way is not a time limit, but a 1% wear per item chopped, mined, or fished. At the 0% mark the tool drops a level, and becomes 100% at that level. The item should be able to be repaired by the blacksmith at a fee (gold pieces plus materials).

If it breaks, you have to go buy a new one.

yes, that makes a certain amount of sense - a level 1 miner and a level 10 miner would get the same number of stones from a tool in that case... I prefer the "time used" because then a more skilled user would do less damage to the tool per piece of material collected... either way, it'd be awesome
