Keys, keys and more keys
Firstly - this is not my idea - it was suggested by someone in my clan who wanted me to post it.
Been doing the quests since Hobbs Mine and dislike carrying or storing all the keys? Here are two possible solutions:
1) When you use a key once, the door remains permanently unlocked for your character. You then no longer need to keep it (or it disappears after first use). There is already a precedent for this with the East Cave doors.
2) Doors remain locked regardless of how many times you open them and so you still need to carry all keys (or store them until you need them) to unlock them...BUT the keys are all kept on a keyring that only takes up one slot.
From a role-playing point of view, I have to say I prefer option 2. Either way, I'm not a big fan of so many slots being filled with keys!

@ Leone - and all that care...
I like the "key ring aspect" could even make that a quest.
"Find the KeyRing"
Until you do, you have to carry all keys separately. Once you find "The KeyRing"; any and every door you have ever opened previously, is open, if you are carrying "The KeyRing".
Any key you find gets added to "The KeyRing" automatically if you are carrying it, or if not when you put the found key in your house where "The KeyRing" is stored ... then it gets added.
YES! I Like it.

"Find the KeyRing"
Code: Select all
One KeyRing to hold them all and on your belt bind them!

Re: Keys, keys and more keys
I like the first option...
No fusss..
No need of any key rings at all after use it to unlock one time..
Its logical.. why will we lock and unlock a door again and again as we visit numerous times..
2nd option is a bit difficult to implement but that's also good..
Why difficult??
Bcoz if u lose The Key Ring by mistake then u lose all keys at once and also there are many variety of keys.. some disappear after use. Some bought from shop. And some dropped by monsters. So i think it would be difficult to include all keys in The Key Ring..

What is Death!!
To think our self confidence is lower than that of our enemies is Death!!
Staying alive in battlefield in fear of our enemies is Death!!
Running from our enemy instead of fighting is Death!!

You make excellent points for the first and second options.death911 wrote: ↑Wed May 23, 2018 11:41 pm I like the first option...

Once a door is open - it stays open, unless it's a speciality quest;like the east bone key cave.

I agree - good points.
Option 2 reflects real life. If you lose your keys you need to have them recut (in FT it's by a GM!).

Re: Keys, keys and more keys
How about, once you get the One KeyRing Quest it stays in your house - 1 slot. Find a new key ingame, use it take it home, it goes on the One KeyRing, and now that door stays open since you have the key on the One KeyRing.
