My idea is a level 100 scroll, requires 50 mana and when casted it summons a Grey Wolf.

If the mage leaves the area the wolves die. They should die after a period of time if the mage does not leave area too.

The wolves do not follow you or attack players.

Interesting, but I know there is also a summon scroll of currently unknown purpose in the game.

That's my understanding, but I'm not there yet to get it. I'm not quite sure where "there" is either.

Summon scroll has no use yet and only method of obtaining one that I'm aware of is fishing one

summon scroll is supposed to be used in future quest

if u find a summon scroll hold onto it
