See? So many cannot wrap their minds around this truth. Let's just pretend armor really helps. I think people can handle looking at it that way. Anything else and peoplestart freaking out.
I remember long ago I brought up in clan chat how skills are pretty much useless. You should of seen the resistance that I met with there.

I would check out the advanced stats page as well:

Lots of information on stats, hp, and so forth. For the purposes of the recent posts in this thread it also provides info on the +6 dex, critical hits being basically a 1/11 chance, and how armor can still reduce damage based on what the "roll" was for the attack.

In this section, all stats are explained more detailed. This might be helpful to build your character, but it can also confuse you.
↑↑↑ Aaaand - I'm safe! ↑↑↑To enjoy the game, it is not needed to understand everything here. But we want to be transparent with our game mechanics
Here's what I know:
- If I hit it/them and it/them dies, I win
- If I hit it/them and I die, I respawn
Trick is: 'respawn' as little as possible.

Hopefully my earlier post helped simplify things. I wasn't going to go into the calculations because most aren't looking that far into characters. And it gets confusing..just remember if u have higher than +6 Dex of opponent u hit/they miss(except crits)
Armor only helps against non crit hits.
Gear only helps if your Dex is lower(and then u risk losing it in PVP)
