Addition to helm stats: permanent regeneration

This is somewhat related to the recent post here:

Remember when players used to regenerate health even when sustaining damage? This was discontinued and changed to the current system where players need to be inactive to regenerate health....

....unless, of course

(a) they carry heal potions which are usable by all classes but not worth carrying even before level 100

(b) they are mages and can use the heal spell

This idea is to level the playing field. I've deliberately chosen the helm as only non-mages wear them.

Non-mages wearing helms regenerate (at a speed to be discussed) even whilst being attacked.

Should it be both PvP and PvM, or PvP only? To be discussed.

Should the rate be as fast as it was years ago? No- it was discontinued for good reason.

Should mages be penalised with heal blockers? No - this current idea would mean heal blocking won't be needed as a tactic.

The "remember when" was before my time so ... can not say.

But wouldn't healing while being attached be akin to lowering the "punch" of the attacker(s)?

Also IMHO if something is to be done it should be both for both PvP and PvM.

I have no idea what a "heal blocker" is so no comment.

First off, yes I do remember.

Second, I think it's a valid issue, my 1100 mage can stop attack and heal up against players of equal and sometimes higher level. Recently I withstood the attack of a 1500 and was able to run him off, simply because I could heal while he could not. On the other side, my 550 sword cannot stand up to a mage my level, they can out heal my attacks, which means survival is available thru stun and run only.

Third, heal blockers are players who stand around a mage to absorb and divide their heal, making an attacker have a better chance to kill a mage.
