Seasonal Quests

Post by SellSword »

There is currently a "Santa Claus" quest in the game.

What about tossing in a few seasonal quests? I'm admittedly limited to my own national/cultural knowledge here, but what about taking a few major holidays and having quests open for a week or two in FT for them? These could even be quests that provide level rewards because if we're looking at maybe 5 quests that wouldn't be too much in the way of "free" levels.

Maybe a follow-up quest for Santa if you wanted to keep it to existing npcs?

Reason? Why not?

It *has* to be based on delivering items (presents) to NPCs:)

Santa had issues with his sleigh and was fixing it. He forgot a present for someone in Ashdown and wonders if you can deliver it as he doesn't think he will have time with his sleigh.

Come back and Santa is still working. He asks if you can get him 5-10 planks.

Get planks and Santa asks if you can deliver one more present to someone in bank town.

Come back and Santa thanks you for your help. Reward is one level.

Presents are not fishable or transferable.

Quest is not available if player is an outlaw as that person is on Santa's "naughty list." Alternate option is that person speaks with Santa and he just gives them one piece of carbon ore. ;)

Talk to the gravedigger at Ashdown. He says that after the stolen remains were returned they attempted to consecrate them, but restless spirits still linger. He sends you to the witch.

Witch says spirits are restless with a sense of vengeance. She tells you to go kill 10x orcs in the mines (2 per remains recovered or per restless spirit) while she looks into the matter.

Return to the witch and she tells you she can create a potion. She will need 5 potions of each of the following: hp, mana, some color mixture (actually use those things for something).

Once gathered witch says it should be solved and sends back to gravedigger.

The big idea is that these would be open to most players with minimal required quests.

In another thread, and several non-forum chats, I once suggested a Santa's Workshop quest set, based on escorting reindeer (current Roebuck model, with anti-abuse mechanic built in), Deranged Elves who took the gifts (recolored gnome skin, defeat them to recover the gifts), and defeating Krampus (color modified Santa model, with boss stats) in order to get Santa back on track.
Last I heard, the concept was being considered for development, but idk how much (if any of it) was ever completed.
