Yes it's basically mixing classes and may seem pointless to choose classes to some but classes has their perks and flaws in skills. Witch should not be changed.
I agree with "Which should not be changed" AND "witch" should not be changed, she's great the way she is.

I think it would be too far a departure from the game to have a generic class and choose skills around it. If players would like to play such a game, then look no further than OV.
However when I see a dwarf attacking 8 at a time and mages 20 or 30, or archers and mages attacking from behind walls, I sometimes wonder, "Why am I a blade carrying character?"

To be honest I look no further than FT.
However when I see a dwarf attacking 8 at a time and mages 20 or 30, or archers and mages attacking from behind walls, I sometimes wonder, "Why am I a blade carrying character?"
It builds character?
Then again, you're lost and I've sold my sword, so I don't know if we're even qualified as blade carrying characters either...

My point exactly. See if your a swordsman and you have let's say for example 20 throwing knifes and 20 unfreez pots and a mage around your level come beeboping up and desires to attack you and you stun this mage which happens to have 40 unfreez pots. You use up your stuns and he's slowing you so u use up your unfreez pots. Even with your stun skill you will be at start map before you can freez the mage 20 more times with the skill. So your stuck at start map wishing you had a archer or mage to go get even with. But if you can equip a bow on your swordsman you can use your skill never miss or fire hit then put your magic resistance shield on to buy some time for you to have a chance.
I wouldn't suggest anything to damage the game or the players I suggest to make things more fun and a little more balanced and make FT more interesting to all the players.
I'd hope you all along with compbadant would like this idea even consider a test on it to see how it could turn out.
