As for worms, well they are near perfection pets. Let them die and it's the owner fault. Absolutely no glass cannon there.

I didn't replace my fairies after they died, so when she found out she named my glass cannons "Heartache" and "Heartbreak," so... hopefully she cheers up about pets in a few hundred levels!

My halflings died so often I never bothered to name them
...perhaps Dead and Deadder, or similar
they are hella fun though

My recently acquired worms are.... well, nice, but I can't really think of names for them either.
I've always hated the worms in FT, and the sfx they make. (Quite satisfactory when you can eventually kill them).
But I always think of fishing bait when I look at them.
I don't make a habit of naming my food, and as such, I wouldn't name my food's food either.

Still, my dragons had names - Donna and Darlene; and I think they're the only ones I've ever named.

...Oh wait, my swordsman had a lion named Mikael for a long time

I showed her a still picture of the worm. At first she said she wouldn't name worms, but I zoomed in and she finally came up with Mint and Teal-Tastic. How threatening!

(Also "Dritten," but that's just from a book she's reading. It's a dragon-kitten, because I'm sure you needed to know that!)
