About Craft Exp

Post by Nyaon »

Someone please relieve my pain.
I do not know how to calculate the exp craft right now and I can not get motivated ...
The experience I can get seems not to match "XP = 1000-10 * craft_chance".
I am convinced that need a lot of time.
but It is painful that I do not know how much time is needed.
In short, how much EXP get when a level 5 archer fails to make a gold plate?
(23% success rate,Archer's Trade_affinity 1.5)
And how is it calculated?

You may find this useful. I'll keep looking for other information.

Thank you very much.
I referred to thread.

But my English reading skills are far from perfect.
And it is difficult to understand what Google is saying.
I think as follows.

Basically, the success rate increases by 3% as an LVL bonus every time one LVL is raised.
Since Archer Trade affinity is 1.5, the basic bonus is 3 x 1.5, and the 4.5% success rate increases with each increase in LVL.
In other words, LVL5 gets 4.5 × 5 = 22.5% LVL bonus.

This method is applicable because the success rate of gold plate is 23% at Archer of Craft LVL5 at present.
Gold plate LVL0 success rate 0.5 + (4.5 × LVL5 = 22.5) = LVL5 success rate 23%

Since the formula of EXP to be obtained is [EXP 1000-(success rate × 10)],
Calculated from the above success rate, it will be [1000-(23 x 10 = 230) = 770].

As a conclusion, if the archer of Craft LVL 5 fails to make a gold plate once, 770 EXP can be obtained.

Is this calculation correct?

According to the game manual crafting exp is XP=1000-10*craft chance. Has this changed? If so please change the formula or make additions if other modifiers. This morning I put this formula to the test. I tried to craft 18 magic gems and failed 10 of those getting 8 gems. My crafting % for those is 31%. So in a literal math world (math is one of the few absolutes) XP=1000-(10*31) or 1000-310 or 690 per fail. Ten fails should have yielded 6.9k XP change ....my result? Xp increased by 3k only!!! Even if you used my actual success rate instead of craft rafe (44.4%) that still would yield 5.6k XP. Could we please have a definitive answer on why this is not consistent? Coincidentally It seems in this experiment the XP I got was ten fails times 31% or 3.1k xp which would equal what I got!!!
Second set same lesser results....using 7.2 version of game.

For the sake of completeness I uninstalled 7.2.1 and reinstalled 6.8.1. The results were better but still not the equation. On 6.8.1 I crafted 5/18 tries or should have been 13*690=8970 XP gained...I got 6k for these fails which is closer but not the amount promised. Math is conclusive the formula as given is not valid unless some modifiers are included which we are not aware of. Thank you.

Perhaps the GM team could investigate at some point? If the craft formula and/or % have changed, then it would be good to know.

↑↑↑↑ Yes LK agrees, and an affinity upgrade for the poor swordsman from 0.75 to 2.0 would be nice.

  Yea that's gonna happen.

Seriously though something seems to have changed with crafting I don't seem to get as many "successes" as I use to and I worked like the dickens to get LK to Lvl: 8 ... seems like things are worse now.

Perception or fact?

What about staff and players being informed when a change is done, instead?

A VERY good idea. Assuming some part of the mechanics was intentionally changed, this would be GREAT! If not, it's a pretty annoying bug...

Well, considering that in FT v7 some are saying they are getting no crafting xp for failing and others feel like I do, in v6.8; it seems like something changed for the worse. Like % chance has dropped.
