I sent Merry Christmas greetings to a number of people on my friend lists who were not online. No one responded so I sent a message between two of my alts. The result the message does not wait like it used to, if your person isn't online they don't get the message.
Too bad really..... sometimes it's a long time between catching someone on line... especially those friends who don't use the forum. Awhile back a friend thought I was ignoring him but now I see the message for whatever wisdom it was decided was never delivered.
I think it's bad form for a social game to make socializing impossible but for ideal conditions.

Good post. That explains a couple of things for me as well.

I was wondering why messages were not being responded to.

On a phone, you receive a notification to the phone. Assuming that is turned on for that phone, etc. I don't think it ever worked another way for me, but you guys have been playing much longer.
Edit: The notification might only be for the last alt logged in. I'm not certain about that part.

For me it's the same. But it would be much better in my opinion if you'd get the notification AND the leter with the message as it was normally would appear.justj99 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 7:46 am On a phone, you receive a notification to the phone. Re: Messages only good if online
I do not use the "android" version (reinstalled to test) I use the PC version.
I see NO notifications and do not want to.
I like the old method where messages were waiting for you when you get online.
- Android version: "Notifications" do not allow you to answer, they are gone by the time you open the game.
- had a few from different people, they were not online when I entered game....
- - communication Lost.
But on the PC version where we use to get envelope with the "name (date time stamp) there is no nothing.
Use to be you send a message and get:
now If your "Friend" is not online the message disappears into the void and NO:
Also: A notification of an incoming message - and no message is not an ideal situation.
KUDO's to Gull for catching this.
