Mage inactive RPG OFFLINE

Hi,
I've played this game before and I have downloaded the quest pdf.

After completing Ascanius quest for the red and blue bracelet, the mage is supposed to ask if he can join my team provided the Blue Knight is there. I did and the Blue Knight is in my team but the mage turned inactive and I can't do anything about it (see attached screenshot) . I tried walking off to other map areas and coming back but he is still inactive.

This problem also happened with the Dwarf, who
became active again after a day when I had lost all hopes.

Is there anything I can do to activate the mage?

It's been a long time since I played offline but I don't recall Ascanius joining the team. Perhaps the mage is on a different map that joins you.

Yes, I found him.
I got confused as they look exactly the same.
He is in the map North of Ascanius.
Perhaps a new sprite should be created. Thanks for your help.
