I'm sorry to say, but your application has already been unsuccessful.
Please reread the first post of this thread.

Re: Gamemaster Apprenticeship Program
Good morning, everyone. MadManiac here.
Every time I read this thread, I see players try to argue that a player from a clan can't make a good GM. They're wrong.
10 years ago, I applied to and joined the GM team. I joined, and barely lasted 4 months before messing up spectacularly. Prior to joining GM, I'd never played in clans. Yes, GM was my first clan. No, it didn't end well.
Let's not talk only about my failures, though. I'm not the best example we have. Let's discuss other people, too.
Akkilles, formerly known as "J Valdez" ingame, was a major member of clan ShdW. He left the game for a while, as we all do from time to time, and decided to apply for GM. The rest is history, and that's his story. Lol
Ryaca, widely regarded as one of the "favorite" GMs of all time, was also a member of ShdW, as well as one of my oldest FT friends. Good memories, for many of us.
Let's go back further. Cleopatra, who is one of the only former GMs who still plays. Clanned player, going WAAAAYY back, and she retired voluntarily when she decided she'd rather just play as a player. The clan alliance she's in has many older GM members, as well, although they left over the years.
El Majo, DaHobbit, Gandalf, Ardesia. All former GMs and admins. All were clanned players before that. All monitored the game fairly, and left on their own, having helped the game for years.
One last one, and she's kinda special to me. While I was a GM, I made my own small clan. Few members, good people, following a fool of a Maniac. One of them was a player named "witch". Blie fairy skin, no clan experience, great attitude. My best builder, and a great friend. When I failed as a GM, her reaction was one of shock. When everything I owned was deleted as punishment, she tried to help me recover. When I said I was going to quit, she threated to quit as well, just so I'd keep trying. Without her, I'd have given up and left. My best clan member, follwing a biased fool.
Now, she's known for having created great events and moderating the game fairly. She saw what I did wrong and was better than I ever was at the GM job.
Here's my point:
Don't argue that just because a player was in clans, they shouldn't be a GM. I wasn't, and failed. Many were clanned, and succeeded.
Sincerely,
MadManiac
PS:
Leone, regarded as ine of the best helpers here on forum, who would probably get GM in seconds if he'd just apply (lol), was also a clan mate of Ryaca and Akkilles before. Food for thought.

Re: Gamemaster Apprenticeship Program
A great post.
We should be thinking about a player's conduct when deciding whether or not they would be a decent GM, rather than focussing on which country they happen to be from or which clan they are part of.
Thank you for the kind words, by the way.

MadManiac thanks for that great post.
Lots of memories in there for me.
GM's should be selected/not selected by their actions in game, whether in a clan or not. PERIOD.
And as you have shown sometimes a great choice turns out not to be such a great choice.
Real age I understand as a prerequisite. That should be that.

I would if I could but I can't, so I won't. My forgetter is getting better.

Re: Gamemaster Apprenticeship Program
Filip applying as a moderator got my vote not because i am in the same side of the alliance as him and his friend but because of his contribution as a player to the game, he made maps and quests, showing dedication towards the game voluntarily, helped players showing he cares about the community too and that itself is a decent enough proof that he can apply as a moderator.
let us not judge a player based on personal opinions and biases, and let his contributions into the game decide whether he is fit to be a moderator or NOT.
although my voice will not have the same ripples as the old players like mad (great post btw) and leone have in here and is merely supportive, but a normal players voice is a voice regardless.

Re: Gamemaster Apprenticeship Program
Whenever I have considered throwing my hat in as a GM I took the opposite view...namely because I haven't been involved in clan play it disqualified me from being a good GM because I wouldn't know the consideration clan playing might involve. Character is what matters, accountability, and trustworthiness, but a full experience of the game to me is a plus rather than a detriment.
