Plodding along and liking it!

Post by Gullander »

We all play and love this game for different reasons. For me I set a goal, though it has been sidetracked a few times, which was suggested by a friend, to have as many classes as I could over 2k. Some think that is a plodding waste of time....and perhaps it is...but each of us must find a reason to turn on the game every day....playing is the thing whatever the motivation.

So I have achieved a freya, a sword, an ogre, and a dwarf over 2k and have an archer in the line with over 1250 on his way. A mage half that drags behind. Some may say a freya and the dwarf are the same just as a fairy and mage are the same, or a huntress and archer, or a amazon and a swordsman, but don't tell them that!! My freya has her own style and personality far different from my dwarf. This too is part of my plodding...each character has a back story. We may bore with monotony but a persona helps each acct be interesting to play.

People play solitaire their whole life or mahjong or any number of plodding always the same games. It isn't because they lack imagination but a childlike enjoyment of "do it again!" which small children will wear adults out saying. This plodding has lead to many accounts that should I have devoted to one character only I have no doubt I would be at 15k. But each plodding underling has his or her place. Yes Forgotten Tales is a game that asks for our imagination of a different place and time operating under different rules than real life and peopling that world with a variety of individual accounts with individual personalities is how I keep this game fresh. Yes my main is mostly retired but there are many who plod along and keep me coming back day after day. :D

LK has been 3232 for just over 2 years now. I have my reasons, don't ask.
I have three in the 700+ range no plans for anything higher.
I have one at 400+ that I'd like to get to 600 only because I was given a 600 weapon.
→ will need to buy 600 legs some day.
I have six more that have done HGM and have access via the secret passage to help haul ore
So that's a total of eleven in HGM.

I stay to help with Platinum and Meteor Ingots and Meteor Tools.

Other than all that, LK visits the Wizard of XP on Map 0.0 whenever he gets close to leveling to reset XP to 0.

An alt of mine has just reached a decent level, having focussed on levelling rather than quests.

I'm looking forward to doing the game's different quests once again.

I pop in from time to time to experience nostalgia.

FT was my first mobile mmorpg experience.

I'm glad that I see familiar faces in this thread/post.
I don't know why I'm here...

Thank you for those who responded. :D

Unfortunately I must conclude that either no one else feels like responding or that the forum has fallen so far out of interest few read things posted. :(

So although over the years I have tried in my own way through the written word to contribute to the fun of the game I also must conclude for the most part no one is interested as once before.

I recall the golden days of the forum with lots of fun interactions. I suppose discord has replaced this as the go to for lots of players and the forum is for announcements, some game suggestions, and reporting of bugs or players, and for compbatant the selling of houses.

So I say adieu to making any new posts but will respond to others if I think I can be helpful. I thank all those in the past who have expressed their interest in my many stories put here, quest ideas, walkthroughs, and puns etc. An actor must have an audience or time to drop.the curtain and close the show.

Parting is such sweet sorrow a bard has said...but it is sorrow nonetheless.

Most players only use the forum when they need help with something, and therefore they don't understand it very well. Honestly, I would never have find and read this thread if the "Last unread post" button didn't exist.

You make a good point. The forum is more practical for more players instead of using the forum as an extension of game fun as I think it was in the past. In any case my mode of adding to the joy of game experience is over because joy unshared is only half of joy.

Even so, it is still a place to share our thoughts.
