Re: new GM: ardesia
Thanks for having me on board!
--edited to add the following--
Finding the right wording for this moment isn't easy at all.
My thought on game mastering, which I expressed somewhere in the forum, is one of deep respect and gratitude for those performing it, well aware of how challenging and difficult it can be.
Reading MadMikael's advice to those wanting to apply as GMs gives a good idea of GM being a role of work and responsibilities.
In a game, rules are the core, they define the game and allow it to be played.
The rules have to be actually and consciously respected by all players, in order to keep the gameplay interesting and pleasant for everyone.
All players should read the game rules, and respect them, not "just" because respecting them is required, but also (and above all) because our collective respecting them allows us all to keep playing in the best possible way.
GMs protect game rules, and in so doing protect everyone's gameplay quality - even the one of those who (for whatever reason) fail in respecting them.
With enthusiasm and dread at the same time, I'm becoming part of FT GMs group. I'm thankful for the trust and support I'm being given, and I know I can rely in each of you, who are reading this, for comments and feedbacks helping me GMing in the best possible way.
I'd like to close this enrollment speech with a public statement: I hate writing speechs!

Great stuff. Well done
Re: new GM: ardesia
Being a GM can be very rewarding in many ways. It can also be tiresome and taxing at times. I wish you the most enjoyable and rewarding time that anyone can have.
