Re: NOT PVP FIGHTING

Hey all, it's been a while since I've been on the forums, good see all the familiar names around..
Over the past few years I've voiced my enthusiasm and support for Forgotten Tales. The game brings back to memory all the games I loved growing up such as Ultima, Nethack, Rogue, etc.. Being a 41 year old father of 4 young boys, three of which are old enough to play, it's tough to find a title that we ALL enjoy playing together. FT filled that void as it's one that I enjoy as much as they do!
Sadly, the PVP options in the game are causing the game to become less enjoyable, for all of us. It's one thing to watch out for NPCs and learning how to memorize spawns, etc., that's the fun stuff. It's another thing all together to have to constantly be watching your back for people that enjoy nothing more than to smack another player around. (Something tells me they were either badly bullied in school or active bullies themselves
)
That said, with the numerous players that are now enjoying the game that speak different languages it's making communicating difficult. Prior it was much easier to simply say "Hey man, I didn't do anything. Please no PVP". For the most part, other players would get it and go pick on someone else. Now a days though the language barrier has killed that. I do love the fact that the game is enjoyed by players all over the world!
That said.. Having 4 players purchase just a week of protection for PVP is not economical, we've already sunk too much money into FT, according to mom. Grin I truly hope that soon, the Creator will update code to allow for either a lifetime PVP opt out (can't attack other NPCs and can't be attacked unless you are clanned).
Thanks for letting me vent and thank you to all the fantastic gamers and mods we have met in FT. There have been players, too many to count, that have encouraged, supported, and helped out myself and the kiddos. So for that, a big thank you!
PS - Not sure if these messages are really ever seen by the game creator.
Hoping this one makes it to him though. He really has put together a quite incredible little gem.
