Dave, I think that screenshot was from a while back, yes? You reported him to me previously, and I caught up to him and punished him because your screenshot shows him "spawn killing" even though you reported it as "pet killing". That may be of little consolation to you since we do not replace dead pets, but I did not ignore your report.

DaHobbit wrote:I pointed this out in a previous post, and in mini-chat, but I will post here again. Currently, pet killing is not against the rules. However, "spawn killing" is against the rules. If a player drags spawn onto you and your pets, that is called spawn killing and is punishable. Pet Killing is if the spawn is dragged only onto your pets while you are away. If you are near your pets, and the player brings the spawn to you - even if his intention is to kill your pets - that is called spawn killing.
Just a thought.
Since pets are now purchased with real money, perhaps this rule should be re evaluated.
However, I don't suspect the GMs will be in favour of such an idea, as it would mean another rule that is very difficult to enforce.
So, perhaps there could be a programmable alternative, idk....

I personally try to save pets. Doesn't matter if they're bought with gold or real money I never like to see someone lose pets.
If there was a way to heal pets other than just getting them out of combat I think this wouldn't be as big of a problem.
@Arashiko Mages are op enough already. No thanks to giving them invincible pets on top of it. Only until mage class gets rebalanced will I support it. Or just throw a bandaid on it and give all other class except mage access to 1-20k hp pots (depending on lvl) at scroll shop for like dirt cheap like I'm talking 20gp for the 20k pot that also share with pet and have like 100-1k doses each pot to compensate for mage infinite heal then I support
Anyway..
Just expand crafting and let us feed pets different types of food made from fish or w/e to heal them. While you're at it add a pet hp bar in HUD so when our pets get engulfed by spawn we can still see their health. Good place to tap and "feed" them to regain hp, along with general interaction.
If we were given more power to actually protect our pets besides running away / logging and hoping they make it then pet killing would be dramatically reduced I feel. If there were foods that healed like 30, 50, and 75% pet health (just examples, or just make regular fish heal like 30% idc just something) then maybe a rule change wouldn't be necessary.
I'm always for consumables anyway as they encourage a supply and demand economy and helps gives gold value.
Instead of changing the rules, give us the ability to keep our pets alive. If they still die after this then it'd be their own fault.
