My husband and I just finished a documentary on Rome. It was actually incredibly inspiring and informative, but also it was amazing to look at the similarities between Rome and the United States. They are founded upon the same principles, although they have been adapted to the current way things are done. After watching the documentary though it is scary to see that Rome fell and the US is making similar choices as those leading up to the fall of Rome.
I live in the US so it was definitely a big eye opener. I will have to find the name of the documentary and pass it along to you. It was a 6-disc set and portrayed in a live action accounting sort of method. It is a lot better than listening to some monotone narrator recount historical events through pictures. I will have to look that book up, I have never heard of it. I am finishing The Boy in the Striped Pajamas myself at the moment. Pretty good read.

Definitely have heard good things about the book u r reading as well as the movie
I do not think that u will be disappointed by looking into a distant mirror
Very good so far but a very long read so will take me a considerable amount of time to read
I am a documentary junkie so I'm always looking for things to watch

I was talking with my kids the other day and told them I would take them to the library to look up some stuff they needed to research. My 15 year old daughter replies to me, "Mom, the library is for old people and poor people without computers!" I told her that it was amazing how smart kids are today. They are about as smart as putting 10 bricks in a plastic bag and expecting to carry it for any distance without it ripping. All this technology at their fingertips and information in a click of a button, yet they cannot retain most of what they learn and are challenged by having to use simple critical thinking skills. As our younger generations become smarter and smarter in the information age it is insane how stupid we are really making them.
Needless to say, when I took my kids to the library, the regarded it as a sort of diamond in the rough. They had an excellent time! But then again, "It's just for old people!" lmao!!!!!

Lol the library is great
I read that on the net about not retaining info because it's so easilyfound out now and hurts critical thinking skills
My church is made of mortar and brick
Pretty sure it's flammable tho lol
