Great idea! I'll take a lizard ( gloomy, happy, crazed, parasited,) or any other pet option at 1200 or so.

I tried chameleons for a couple of days. They died quickly and i wasn't impressed. I kept worms from 820 until 1932 bees.
Worms have limitations, but soak up so much damage, great damage and great attack.

I have a more favorable opinion of chameleons myself, but that largely depends on what you are fighting and what your grinding style is. For anyone contemplating a new pet there is now the option to test pets on the test server, so by all means find one you like.
Sorry, that doesn't have much to do with a pet gap.

If you don't want to make a new pet, we use an existing one.
Ice Worm
level 500
Buy to level 1000
Str 15,000
Dex 350
Arm 350
Hp 100.000
freq. 1.0s
Ice Worm has less HP than worms, but is slightly stronger and faster.

Dinosaur is.good pet.
More hp
More arm.
More magic resistance.
And above all it attacks from a distance. Not as close as the ogres
You risk them much less .
It is very important that you do not attack closely.
Now that I think about it, it would also take the attack range on the monster base sheet.

The newest group of pets has made some choices not as easy as before. But I think as Syor pointed out melee versus ranged must be considered, what do you like to fight? It may be a dinosaur will be better? I hope so.
I have a sword level 840 but still has 2 doom bat pets instead of worms. Doom bat 9000 per second dmg and worms 24000 per two seconds or 12000 a second. But what I am fighting now I think having 9000 every second kills them fine, so why waste money on new pet? When I want to fight other monsters to level I may want worms, so my point is better is not always needed depending on your goals. I hope this makes sense. As long as you are happy with your leveling why change.
Now my OP still stands as my main still has worms and wishes there was a 1250 pet option even an ice worm as suggested would be great as some improvement.

I agree and have to say it's great to have the variety and the choices. It will certainly help players to level up faster and that's fantastic.

Dear friend Dwarf,I too have used the Doom Bat up to level 950, I only changed for dexterity, as it is much lower than the Worm.
But they are a PET show. I had a great time with them.
You're right, it all depends on the game you play, and the monsters you want to fight.
To get back to the Post.
The ice worm has few HP in fact, but it hurts more!
I'll keep proposing New Pets until one of the management tells me "it can't be done". The silence is really bad.
