Here is the chart based on 5 sequences with each class of tool I did ...off topic a bit but this is this events reward +4 so has some bearing on it.

The time is the time to complete one turn of mining. The numbers in the squares are how many ore were gotten from each turn of mining.

So:
Level 1 pick took 80 seconds per turn for 50 ore total.
Level 2 pick took 73 seconds per turn for 52 ore total.
Level 3 pick took 67 seconds per turn for 61 ore total.
Level 4 pick took 60 seconds per turn for 63 ore total.

It won't be those same totals for each 5 turns of mining (except level 1 pick), but it was to give an overall view on how much better each was.

Not only do you mine faster with each + for the tool, but also get a higher chance for double ore, meteor stones, and soul stones too.

Excellent point...more ore and faster ore means less waiting time (at least theoretically ) for meteors, souls, and you might also consider + ores as well.

Again the point is not the effectiveness but whether the improvement justifies the expense and hoopla over +4. This is after all just my observation and opinion, whatever makes a player happy and enjoy FT more I welcome, even if it's a +4 tool.

Agree there. The 20b+ or whatever they go for is a high, high price!
