Well the thing is giving the book to the devil or not affects later what part of the quest line requires. To remove the quest might make it impossible to proceed. Hopefully a GM can help.

Surely you gave the book to the boy and not to the magician!
The plot does not need 2 books! Find a guy at 0.-3 and try to talk to him, check it out

I'm sending you a PM with more information about all the quests in your quest log to get you started on these. This particular quest, for the book with the Creepy Stranger, seems to be bugged for you. You have already given the quest to the human. I'll look into removing the other quest log for you, since it should have been removed when you gave the book to the human.
