While not official, any player is welcome (and encouraged even) to appeal a mute or any other punishment if they truly feel it was dealt unjustly...obviously do so in a respectful way, and approach 1 admin about it and wait for response, don't start calling the mod names in public... I believe we all feel we have a very good and fair team, but we also recognize that certainly nobody is perfect, and we will make a bad decision sometimes

(also keep in mind that admins will spend time and energy reviewing what happened, and if you're complaining about something that is not even questionable they will feel you are wasting their time :/ )

what about if they were in the wrong, but mods genuinely feel as though they have learned their lesson and wont swear again if unmuted?

obviously people like DOOM and HAMMERBITE like being permamuted, but most people may change there mind pretty quickly about a permamute and actually decide to stop swearing.
my language on the first week of me playing this game is HORRENDOUS, but as you know, is not that bad now, the game has helped me to stop swearing (but not irl)

What is permamute and how do you know if you've got it?
Also, wouldn't it be better for everyone if all of the muted people were put into a seperate chat room where they could all swear at each other to their hearts content? Kind of like a virtual prison.

It is very rare to get permanent mute quickly...
Keep in mind, it takes 5 (yes, FIVE) mutes to become permanent. Each time you are muted, you are warned of this outcome. You also are given a day to try out the mute, to see if you can live with it or not.
If you're telling me that 4 chances is not enough to convince a player he should stop swearing... you are only convincing me that standard mutes should be longer, so it has a chance to sink in.
Perhaps if mutes were for 3 days, or even a week, like outlaws, it would convince players to mind their language before that permanent comes along?
Remember, everyone who plays this game is expected to have read the rules. They are expected to mind their language. Its not like you're just talking and it slipped out accidentally; it takes CONSCIOUS EFFORT to type F*** *** S*** F*** D*** C***... etc. etc.

you can tell if you're permamute by going into a crowded map and saying 'free swamp bow and mystic mask to give away'
if noone responds then your muted.
if this continues for a long time you're permamuted.
all people who are mute can talk to their friends and to their clan mates.

BTW if you are not certain, you can always PM 1 admin and ask him to check your mute counter... be patient with reply though

i wouldnt be against muting people for longer. but, i think people should be given a chance if they overstepped but are sorry.
thats why we give 5 chances in total

then, its permanent, to save our life time trying to find chars, who cannot stop cursing ...

Some times we see a really scandalous chat. In these circonstances we can mute x2, x3, x4 or permanently. Remember: bigger offence deserves bigger punishment.

I think we can make one cool thing:
No ***,just changing words
For example-player wrote f**k,and this word changes to LOVE
XD
