A look behind the curtain: the unfeeeze portion was originally set to drop by green spider because I had hoped for a special freeze attack from Pharaoh spider... now you know ;)

That would make the game even more unfair and frustrating.

I'm always interested in receiving input... even though this is really a moot point, why do you say that?

The game is very difficult because of the already known issues about balance and lack of equipment.
Having own characters killed by paralysis would force even more a constant save & reload process that would be not challenging but utterly frustrating

I think the issue could be stated a bit differently, but let me know what you think: first, if much weaker enemies had special abilities (say the pirates could freeze) I believe we would find it adds variety and fun...but if it's stronger monsters who are very likely to kill us, it becomes frustrating. Next, let's realize that enemy strength is only a factor as it relates to ours...so if you were much stronger, the freezing spiders would be fun ... again, the issue lies in not leveling up as much in rpg as we do in mmo. I think you're much too low level to be messing with pharaoh spider, but in rpg that's to be expected... know what I mean?

Yes. But the point us that in the game there are almost no weak monsters since most if them are string the first time that you face them! Also those spiders are very hard to hit and damage, I have used them to level up only since I had the mage (they have low hit points so are pretty vulnerable to magic).
Poison and paralysis would be nice only if the mage could have the antidotes in the form of spells, if there would a sort if saving throw and if such monsters would provide more xp. But if enemies had special abilities, I want my henchmen with their own too.
