Anyway, I can't speak specifically for this case, but it generally meant changing password to some random thing that a player did not look at when (s)he typed it. (eyes closed or averted or similar)

Obviously this does not account for a possible retrieval of password from GM team (which was possible back then) and it was before email recovery existed in FT.
