I should have clarified context Blitz - no worries. its possible if its a 1/1000 drop, but I think that is what diamond wand is and I've gotten 2 of those already and nothing from rats...so either I'm getting -really- close or its not added yet to RPG.
its just for the quest. Only reason I'm even trying now is I'm interested to see what the item is the quest rewards with - typically I wait so long to finish a quest that then the armor/weapon is worse than what I already have.

I can also say without a doubt rats do drop mithril plate.
