Specter pet IS a option of 2nd pet once u have completed the Kraken island quest. I had one already lol but it doesn't listen well u walk away. My died at red cyclops :-/

yeah, he has worked out to be even more fun than I'd hoped lol. high dex, but relatively low hp... super high damage, but slow attack.... plus the fact that it's the only ranged pet (but still lower range than many of the monsters) - it had really proven to add some variety

Fire aecher pet at piramis is also ranged.
