From what I've seen I suggest a couple of rules to make it better - or at least fairer :

1. PvP on only for the duration of the battle.
2. Teams are not assigned, but picked by captains. Captains are 2 players with highest level.

1. - Weaker captain picks first.
   - Captains picks players until combined level of the team surpasses combined level of the other team.
   - Pick order is from higher to lower level, to avoid abuse.

3. Scores are kept by the judge, not organizer/participant
4. First 3+ rounds are to determine if one team is much stronger than the other and make adjustments. They are not included in final score.
5. Late additions of the weaker kind go to the currently losing team. Very strong latecomers do not join in at all after balancing rounds are over.
6. Entrance is blocked by pets for the duration of a round to prevent wandering in.
7. Tunnel is a no-kill zone. Entering a tunnel equals surrender, player is out for the round.

Sorry, but from what I observed in two events I saw, NONE of them are.

1. A lot of fighting before the event actually begins.
2. You assign teams.
3. You keep the score - pretty strangely, at least the last time.
4. Nothing is done to try and balance the teams, except you deciding each round.
5,6 No effort applied here.
7. This one I heard announced, but no one follows it

I think my rules are logical. You can shrug them off, of course, but if you decide to accept them, I'll be helping with the events on regular basis.
If you find any of them objectionable, please say so.

Well, be selfless in that case, do not participate when you referee. I see you helping people grind, I see you giving out prizes for good reviews on Gplay, why not here?
