That's the before picture. You should see the after picture. Blood everywhere, both arms laying on the ground.

Good thing there was a high level mage passing by that did his magic and I have them back on.

WOW! What a rush that was!

Shhh... don't blow my cover.
I'm MadMagus ;)

I've been accused of being madmaniac several times this week... I honestly don't envy him, on how some would greet him.
Then again, well, we know why that happened. Again, respect to him in that he still comes around, and deals with that.
Anywho, I've actually had a lot of fun with it - no I've not pretended I was him, but the attitude directed at me only encouraged me to an argument in some cases. Let's just say that there was one or two that had onlookers giggling.

As for you LK, I hope you get to grinding, as I'm ever approaching my target level, and I'll be looking to outfit you and another friend with some nice 750 gear if I can manage to craft it... if not, well, what is it you say? Succeed at failing? I could use the craft xp, as that skill is a pain in the butt to level. But I'm looking forward to gaining access to the platinum mine, and in turn, finishing the Hobbs mine quests (it was closed for years, you know).

I'm cracking away at the Aetor quests too, and it was nice to run into you there, that day. I hope that we can do it again.
At your rate, I estimate it won't be long before you've surpassed me in level, and I'll be asking you for help ;)

Oh, and again, thanks for helping that newbie the other day; he seemed rather polite, and I was glad that you gave him a little aid. It gave me time to help another, although they were no newbie.

But yes, I want you to post here more often, and I'm not alone in that. Really enjoy reading your posts... and I'm very tempted to read them all again from start to finish, but that's looking more and more like a grind in itself haha... wow, so many pages now...
I hope many decide to read it, as it's such a great adventure.

I believe it has been mentioned before that we all keep reading this thread because LK is crazy and we want to see what comes next... I'd never say that though. I only agreed with it!

Honestly though, this post is quite informative. A brief recap here, a comment about next steps there, some unexpected issues popping up in between, and so on. Much in the way of guidance is provided by the knight who is *lost himself. I think I'm up to roughly "early June LK" in the thread as far as where I'm at myself! ;)

Totally agree the thread should keep going. I mean, I'll confess to using as my own catchall thread too!

*Slightly different from the official canon, but my daughter once told me why he's lost and a knight. I can't remember all of the details, but it had to do with a knight finding a lost fairy castle that was magical. It was an entertaining tale

AAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

End of the month both a blessing and a curse!

Go to the coin exchanger¹ and collect an amount of gold according to how many monsters killed². Then for the next 28-29 days every shop keeper, mercenary or bandit in the world is dipping their grubby hands into my coin purse. Or in some cases stealing the cloths right off my back!

So here we are, an almost full coin purse, it doesn't take the gold sniffers long to grab a few, and a new month of adventures in the making.

Oh! Oh! Weekend, every swordsman, amazon, archer, huntress, mage, fairy, dwarf, freya and ogre will be out looking for my gold. And probably a few elves too, although I haven't seen many around. So I think I will be a good day to chop trees today - need whites³ anyway.

On a side note; this morning before going out to one of the shops that wanted my coins, I logged on for a little bit.

Had an archer(1++) with wizard pets park his pets besides my Ghost's of Ryaca and walk outside the circle of Sword Stans Cosair(70) was creating at the Library and started picking them off very fast! GRRRRRR! So I left ... cutting across the top of the Silverwood Plains to avoid the Clan Map I cannot go on.

I saw a Man in Black(1++) spawn a huge spawn of spiders fairly close to me and started dragging them away from me. OK, that's good ... wait, that green dot is a pet ... he is heading right for it! I put up a chase, but a fairy can only fly so fast.

Unfortunately I could not save it, and it's owner had gone to great pains to park it away from the castle door as well, in a place where nothing spawns and if a swarm gets there, it is only possible one way - it was led there on purpose! MIB had collected them close to me, and too late did I "notice" the green dot he was headed to, and by the time I got there IceM was already Redlined and I watched him die. I did take out my anger and revenge on the spiders though! R.I.P. IceM

OK, now to go a choppin'

I honestly cannot fathom the enjoyment gained out of deliberately kill another player's pet(s). I'd love a pet killer to come on here and explain why - anonymously or whatever.

Schadenfreude would really be about it. It's like the idiot who gathers a swarm of stans and tries to drag them up towards the spawn & wolf quest area to swarm kill low level players. Yeah, makes you a real tough guy...

Edit: I'm not a pet killer coming here to explain it!

Alright, I went and got two pets killed earlier today for testing purposes and am reporting absolutely no enjoyment whatsoever...

Well, ok, they were my own fairies. RIP Rainbow and Starlight as they were lovingly named.

I hadn't done much grinding lately resulted in a few quests (glad to report Bal Muen is no more) and much crafting. I took the fairies to grind a bit in HGM, and even though I had my shortcut to Ardesia right there in front of me I thought I'd bring them with me for a load of carbon. I mean, my house would literally be a minute away, and that's round trip even.

Off to West Cave for the carbon near the steps. I've even seen ogre halflings spawn within that room, but I've been there many times without issue. Archer around 150 spawning and doing the "hit, hit, run" technique. Yeah, the "remote" chance happened with two suddenly spawning in the room. Fairies put up a fight but one soon goes *poof* and the other finishes off one of the ogre halflings before she too goes *poof* back to the fairy world. Vengeance was joylessly extracted from the remaining ogre halfling...

A few seconds of being [the word "upset" is a clean word] at the archer, but it probably wasn't his fault. I should only bring store pets there. I like being "nice" and parking my pets further away from the carbon in the eoom so others can easily access it, so I wouldn't have any time to try and jump in between. Most of all, I just should have known better. No need to report a "pet killer" unless I want to report myself... (If any GM is reading this, I promise to pay myself back, honest!)

So, trying to scrounge up some gold to buy some more pets. Yuk... Oh, hopefully before my youngest wants to see my pets in my house and wonders where the fairies are!

On the other hand, that same youngest learned how to ride her bike without training wheels today, so that quite handily tilts the scales towards an overall nice day! :D I'm so glad she picked up on that pretty quickly though because running beside her up and down the block multiple times was probably going to make me collapse on the sidewalk soon enough! :weary:

So, yeah, no enjoyment for the pet killing thing then...

1I killed Golgreens pets once....gulp'....accidentaly of course. I wasn't even aware of it at the time. Lost Knight told me about it afterwards. Unintentional, yes, did I offer to purchase replacements yes. Boy, did I feel terrible though. I can't imagine doing something like that and get a kick out of it.

i feel it is necessary to state that killing pets on purpose and passing thru a map and accidentally spawning mobs that may or may not attack someones pets are two very different things

when this ghost is traveling thru maps if mobs get dropped on someones pets that is their problem

it is not my responsibility to watch out for others pets

if their pets die then they shouldnt have had them on that map anyways

i get mad when ppl are quick to accuse others of being a pet killer when that is not the case

i see this a lot
