But you also know, like real life, you have a choice.
Yes, and I've made it. I'm not going to be fodder for their pride, nor stoop to their level of game play that conflicts with my RL principles, joining a gang for protection and or turf wars is not my thing in RL why should it be in a game.
I was innocent about this at the very beginning, not now. I was stupid to have posted that stuff I posted. So in one respect, I brought it on myself. Live and learn.
Regarding real life who knows maybe someday when I'm out at the corner store a robber will kill me, or a crazy bus driver will run me over.
Well, like I said, it's your choice, and yours to make.
I like to think of FT gameplay in medieval terms, as the game is a fantasy/medieval setting.
In medieval times, bandits could be rampant... the strong could prey on the weak... and times were quite tough.
How did humanity (and the good parts of it) survive?
Well, there were good people, yes. You've found this in the game as well.
And in medieval times, of the good people, the strong would protect the weak (I think of the "knight" fondly in this idea), and the good would band together for protection. They'd make a village, and try to live peacefully. They wouldn't go looking for trouble, but if trouble came, they'd band together and help each other.
Now, you mention "joining a gang", which sounds quite negative (seeing the modern day definition of "gang")...
Yes, I'm saying, don't do it alone... but I'm not saying give up any of your ideals, or fighting for turf etc... That's clan stuff... if you want that experience, that's what you do, you join a clan...
No, my friends and I, we were unclanned for the longest time... if someone attacked one of us, we would all defend each other... we didn't go looking for trouble, we just wanted to grind mobs, try to get items, do quests, and do so as peacefully as possible...
But, if you don't like this sort of thing, then it's not for you I guess.
Personally, I opted-out of PvP for the most part by becoming a GM... sure, my alts can still get attacked/killed, but I don't really play much. If I do, it's usually to go get level 20 swords or wands for low levels etc....
Anyway, it sounds to me like you may want an MMO that doesn't have PvP (or at least, forced PvP).
I know of a good one on PC... it's quite large in size, but the system reqs aren't so daunting (it's kind of old)...
I shouldn't say the name of another game on the forum... so I'll just hint at it...
Our head admin (head GM), has a name taken from the book that this game is based on...
I do have accounts on this game, but I can't play them currently as my "good" computer broke, and my current (backup) one is way too weak to run anything lol
Anyway, the nice thing about that game? No forced PvP. My GF and I played it - it was great. I got her into FT a bit... not so great.
But whatever game you choose to make your virtual home - they'll be lucky to have you.
Ultimately, the best part about MMOs is making new friends the world over.
...just have fun, no matter what you do. If there's no fun here, then don't stay.
