Yes, that is who the account is named after, however, I know that it is not the "REAL" SerjTankian... just a fan.
But, let's not downplay it.
This guy was awesome back in the day.
He's known on the forum as another name (I won't name it), and he's had some rough times over the years....
So, in some ways, he might be considered to be a little "jaded" towards the game in some aspects...
but he was a good friend to me, and afaik he's a good friend to his clanmates, allies, and other friends now.
Wish him the best of luck, whether he still plays or not.

This will be my last post here on the forum.

I think the first paragraph here is what caused the personal attacks. While not naming names at that time, it exposed their game illegal activities. And I didn't even know it was illegal at that time. Also Silver City = Silverwood.

And MadMikael's response with "the (in real life)" part in the next post was enlightening and a huge part in my decision not to continue.

I have decided that:
  1. [pew]ergo82(xx)[L], who attacked me first at Silverwood plains, taking advantage of a game bug, not a clue why! and
  2. [KWNG]dagger1992(xxx)[D] (or maybe DAGGER1992, can't remember at the moment, I wrote in caps at the time I saw it) using his minion:
  3. el chapoo; to bypass the PvP -3/+3 block, to kill me
have won this battle. dagger1992 and el chapoo because I mentioned their using pets to vacuum up the red mummies, and intimidating another player, I think threatening to kill a guy at lvl(31) that I was tanking for, falls under intimidation. Yea yea, I know, I didn't mention that before. And at the time I didn't even know it was not allowed, the spawning part but something went click and re-recalled reading what MadMikasl's post regarding spawning said so I went looking for it again.

Now, here's the thing, as I said, my last public post, since LostKnight is DEAD, I will GIVE everything I have to anyone "I know" who has already helped me if they PM me and tell me when to meet them, it will be at 0.0 as I died and I'm there. I have 22m in gold (gave away 2m last Sunday in coin and armour to new players), gold bars (10 I think) and some armour - including stuff at lvl 75. You'll have to escort me to the bank and or the bar. I think the bar is loaded with +1000HP but don't remember. I would think that most of you are already LOADED to the hilt with stuff and coin but it would be a shame to waste it.

Fun ride while it lasted but it's come to light that this type of game (as is for real life) is really not my thing.

To all here I bid you a fond farewell especially GOLGREN, I made up my mind very early in my game that if I was ever to join a clan, it would be the one you are in, for your tremendous help and a few chuckles along the way. But now I realize that this isn't what I want in a game. Thank you for the things you shared and showed me about the game though.
I'll fight for what I think is right!

....This was my exact fear, and why I encouraged so many to try and keep you here.

Yes, there are many bad players out there, and many who like nothing more than to make others miserable - that's it.
They have many names - Trolls, Griefers, etc.

As you're new to internet gaming (I think), I'm going to warn you.
In every online game, you will run into this sort.
On games that are NOT free at all, they're fewer, but they're still there.
Some people ("kids" I call them) get a kick out of ruining another's day.
If there's something within the rules I can punish them for, you bet I will.
But, there's still some things that will not be punishable.

You're experienced in life. You know, no matter where you go in the world, there are good people and there are bad.
The bad ones will try to take advantage of you. And they will use whatever means to cheat or get some sort of advantage over everyone else, and advance themselves.
The game is no different, and there isn't a game out there that doesn't have this problem.

Our game has its share of issues with these types of players... we've lost many good players over the years because of it.
But you also know, like real life, you have a choice.
You can go out into the world, be as careful as you can, rely on your friends and the public systems to help you... or you can hide in your house forever and never go outside (which still isn't 100% effective).

Anyway, I'm sorry you've run into these troubles. But they're not limited to this game.
So, I wish you luck. I wish you'd stay, but I'm doubting you will.
But, if this sort of thing bothers you, any competitive online game may not be for you.
If you have a decent PC, I could recommend some other PC games that may interest you... but I can't list those here (forum rules).
Contact me privately if you wish to discuss it.

Again - good luck to you.
A shame I never met you in game, but it was great to know you for a little while on this forum at least ;)

Real shame to read this, Lost knight. It's been great to follow your exploits on here and see how your character has developed.

I'd like to echo Mad's comments but also say: why not sleep on it and save your decision for a day or two? As you've seen for yourself, most players are like you: they enjoy experiencing the game, the quests, levelling up, getting new gear and meeting others. Unfortunately there will always be those who play just to intimidate and attack others. This second group is the minority.

Plus, I've still got that LVL 100 armour to give (not sell) you. You can't be far off that level now!

Yes, and I've made it. I'm not going to be fodder for their pride, nor stoop to their level of game play that conflicts with my RL principles, joining a gang for protection and or turf wars is not my thing in RL why should it be in a game.

I was innocent about this at the very beginning, not now. I was stupid to have posted that stuff I posted. So in one respect, I brought it on myself. Live and learn.

Regarding real life who knows maybe someday when I'm out at the corner store a robber will kill me, or a crazy bus driver will run me over.

Thank you, and me too it would have been nice.

I will say this though, I already have a new account. Lvl4 and helping newer users again. Will play that character up to lvl 20 or so. It will be a bit harder and take longer with no help, but that's OK, I'll enjoy it. Not powerful enough to be in anyone's cross-hairs, but wise enough to help newer people at the earlier levels, maybe by doing that the percentage that stay will increase.

Can you imagine at lvl3 I was tanking for a lvl0 player. :D

And - I still have "FT RPG" I'll start playing that again. I check this morning, I'm at lvl11 - that's where it was when I started FT MMO.

From one Canuck to another: Have a Great day!

One last thing to try and change your mind: a couple of days is a long time on ft, a week is ages and a lot can happen in a month. Many (most?) of us have been repeatedly attacked by the same player. A few days later and they've forgotten about you, got bored of it or simply just moved on. Now I don't know exactly what's happened in your case, but you might just find things have changed later this week.

Well, like I said, it's your choice, and yours to make.

I like to think of FT gameplay in medieval terms, as the game is a fantasy/medieval setting.

In medieval times, bandits could be rampant... the strong could prey on the weak... and times were quite tough.
How did humanity (and the good parts of it) survive?

Well, there were good people, yes. You've found this in the game as well.

And in medieval times, of the good people, the strong would protect the weak (I think of the "knight" fondly in this idea), and the good would band together for protection. They'd make a village, and try to live peacefully. They wouldn't go looking for trouble, but if trouble came, they'd band together and help each other.
Now, you mention "joining a gang", which sounds quite negative (seeing the modern day definition of "gang")...
Yes, I'm saying, don't do it alone... but I'm not saying give up any of your ideals, or fighting for turf etc... That's clan stuff... if you want that experience, that's what you do, you join a clan...
No, my friends and I, we were unclanned for the longest time... if someone attacked one of us, we would all defend each other... we didn't go looking for trouble, we just wanted to grind mobs, try to get items, do quests, and do so as peacefully as possible...

But, if you don't like this sort of thing, then it's not for you I guess.
Personally, I opted-out of PvP for the most part by becoming a GM... sure, my alts can still get attacked/killed, but I don't really play much. If I do, it's usually to go get level 20 swords or wands for low levels etc....

Anyway, it sounds to me like you may want an MMO that doesn't have PvP (or at least, forced PvP).
I know of a good one on PC... it's quite large in size, but the system reqs aren't so daunting (it's kind of old)...
I shouldn't say the name of another game on the forum... so I'll just hint at it...
Our head admin (head GM), has a name taken from the book that this game is based on...
I do have accounts on this game, but I can't play them currently as my "good" computer broke, and my current (backup) one is way too weak to run anything lol
Anyway, the nice thing about that game? No forced PvP. My GF and I played it - it was great. I got her into FT a bit... not so great.

But whatever game you choose to make your virtual home - they'll be lucky to have you.
Ultimately, the best part about MMOs is making new friends the world over.
...just have fun, no matter what you do. If there's no fun here, then don't stay.
