Staff Stans look ok on paper, but my target enemies are Ogre Halflings (OH), Blitzbees, and Pharaoh Spiders (PS).

Bees and PS shouldn't be a major problem, but OH have 240 dex. Would Staff Stans, or even Red Monsters, stand a chance long enough to make a dent? It's not like I can tank for them! Ah, decisions decisions ...

No. Ogre halflings would destroy them. There are many monsters you can grind with staff stans and I have seen them in action. They are well worth it.

well, that makes the decision harder. My main reason for pets is to fight ogre halflings - I need keys for that dungeon. Guess I'll just put that quest aside until I have higher HP and a pair of worms!

That is a very good idea as worms can more than hold their own against ogre halflings.

Shadow zombie can kill ogre halfling:
They have 50k hp, only 3 hits from ogre halfling,
They have 3750 str+ 275 dex, so its very well
shadow zombie lvl 263 so 526 to be pet
Good luck, also ranged characters like archers and mages can kill the ogre at the moment of running.

Hmmm... I'll get the original author of the list to update. It's a bit dated, given all the new content released in the past few months.

Also, for the record, the new monsters in the newest map have damage resistance, which excludes the possibility of them being pets, as per Compbatant's policy on pets.

If I am wrong about this detail, I invite GMs to edit this post on the matter.
