yeah ik. some of my best friends are mages.
not all lvl buyers are bad too. in fact ryaca himself doesnt use his lvl to kill others wantomly. i respect that.
wish he had been in ft from the start. i do beleave he is trying to help the game and others.
but many do not realise how much different the first 3years of ft was and many of his and other 'newbies' posts are hurting what those players who did take 4years to slowly lvl up and build their cities.
They havent had the experience we have of complete cities being lost because of a change. or the gold reserve you build up by farming ribes for 1.5years becoming worthless overnight.
I know very well of what you speak of.
What I wasn't here for, I read about.
Many things have happened in the game that I'm not entirely happy with.
Game changes I'm not fond of. Bugs that don't get fixed in time, and someone ends up getting the short end of the stick (when they don't deserve it). It happens, sadly.
On the positive side, I can say I see changes that I am fond of.
Most of those in the game I don't need to mention - as you're aware of them, and many we'll agree on.
The ones that I'm the most happy with - things have been changing behind the scenes - albeit, very slowly in some cases.
Every time I get angry with FT over something, something else happens and makes me think "Ok, there's the original potential I saw, coming back again". And I find myself lured back in
The game is not perfect - and it's a constant work in progress. That has it's good sides and bad. Updates are always coming, which is good. Bugs always will happen, which is bad. So, we just go with the flow, and try and fix issues as they come up.
Just yesterday, we finally nailed down a nasty bug that's been around quite a while... now, it's not fixed yet, but, now we know how to spot it, and what causes it; also, steps have already been taken to work around it until it's fixed. I'm rather glad, as it's already cost me several hours this week.
You are right, that the game is easier now than it ever was. I miss the old challenge. However, the easing of the game also brings more players, as many now would not be able to play the game where there was no diagonal walking (and all the other non features back then). An mmo with few players, is only a short time away from a non-mmo.
But, as I said, the game is constantly in a state of change. Things will change, some good, some not so good. The game balance is always being looked at, as it's never perfect. Gold is worthless and needs an outlet. Also, clans need to be adjusted in some ways, whether you want it or not, there are dead clans, and there are greedy clans. The idea that one clan can actually have several clans (and their territory) just because they can make alts is not what was intended for the game, I think. These sort of clans will likely need to make decisions and cut back. I'm sorry, but that's the way it goes. A clan can support how many members? 30? Whatever the number is, a clan of 10 players should not be able to maintain multiple clans worth of territory. It's not really logical. In an "action packed rpg", many clan maps don't have a lot of action on them. That will likely change in time.
