How about a dedicated building - a market or a trade hub where people can place and browse offers, perhaps categorized by the item type.
Not requiring any ingame purchases, but instead taking a 5% cut from anything sold.

Great idea. I used to think about the same thing. Maybe someday this idea will become part of the game.
