That said, as with buying a house in real life, there are 3 things to consider: Location, location, location!

Proximity to resources for crafting can be a huge factor, but which resources might vary with time and levels. Being near or at the start map is a big factor for some as well. Another factor could be moving into a "good neighborhood". Seeing a friend in game often, because your houses are near can be a nice part of the game as well.

Whatever and wherever you decide, enjoy the game! :)
I will consider all of these options when I make my decision.

I have spent a great deal of time reading the forums today. I am amazed at how many helpful players that their is and how much information that there is. Some forum posts are from over 5 years ago!

Reading all of the posts will take me quite some time and I plan to read as much as I can. I have something to look forward to everyday. I am reminded of Gandalf's visit to the vast library at Minas Tirith.

IMHO: Ardesia City.

Further into the game you will realise it really is close to a lot of places with the secret passage to HGM and The Ardesia Travel Agency.

And the city is PvP free

It's a great choice. Marteks is another. I should think it is the central point in ft with good links everywhere.

I haven't been to Ardesia city or Martek's stronghold but I will search for them. Now...into the world of FT I go.

I was deep in the ogre dungeon and my torch barely lit my way. I was searching for the red and blue bracelets when suddenly I heard a cow mooing! I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that there were no cows in that dungeon.

At what level should I consider getting my first pet?

Today I turned in the 3 books to the monk and gave 6 lions heads to a witch. Then I turned in 3 heads to a man in a chef's hat. After that I wandered around until I found some yellow archers. There were others players here and so I decided to stick around. These archers grant a lot of experience so I may grind here for a while and put my quests on hold for now.

Good plan. Idk what level you are, but at the top left of 3, -1 is a carriage with a quest that gets you lvl 15 boots. Well worth getting.
