Like this post, plus the one immediately following it and this post really do deserve the post that is between the two, the one by Akkillies.

New players may not know about Ogre Halfling's short life span and it's an expensive way to find out.
IMHO: A pet that can take a beating, while killing a bit slower, is always a better buy.

Or my personal favourites, ranged pets!

Apart from that, players that drag mobs to pets to kill them on purpose are, to put it nicely so as not to get banned, NOT NICE! See: Pet Killing and Spawn Abuse in my sig.

People forget that pets are their responsibility. Personally I stay away from the fast to kill, fast to die pets as they seem to be the ones people complain about the most. And taking any pet into a dangerous area is asking for trouble.

I agree with everything you say, except that new players do not own ogre halflings. By that point, a player should know how to take personal responsibility for their pets.

Well, new to Ogre Halflings. But yes, you are right, they know.

They just see what they want to see: They kill fast!
