i remember a player, might have been ryaca mentioning the pvp protection in a post. then seeing it in action on anothers house.
strangely enough i thought that if pvp protection would have been removed it would have been removed grom existing houses to keep things honest. so i asumed pvp protection was there.


this was all fast after i returned from my ft break and after buying houses i read each forum post to get updated on all the changes and
saw a gm post which seemed to confirm that pvp ptotection had been there, was removed but would return in another form so i never made a bug report or other forum post until i saw this one.

the gm post i mean was this one.
ps i totaly understand that thongs changed and hope that pvp protection is not added. just posting this to show that there has been a kind of gm confirmation snd ryaca isnt making it up.

I honestly don't know as I wasn't around at the time it was made.
From what's written there, I would guess two things:
1. That is the desired effect of the PvP protection on houses: it will only work for the owner. The definitive answer makes me think ardesia was told this specifically.
2. There is no timeframe stated. This could be implemented at any time. It is the eventual goal, but it may not happen right away.

You should keep in mind, programming is a funny thing.
Sometimes, the simplest concepts are the most difficult to program.
Also, the game is not a small bit of code. Some changes need to be looked at in multiple places, and to be effective, you need to compensate for every possible occurrence.
This bit of code could depend on other bits to be completed first.

As far as priorities in the code goes, I would not rank this one high myself.
I do know, compbatant was working on some important things last I heard (I'm out of that loop now though).
As stated just a couple posts ago, there is no "magical solution" that makes everyone happy.

Want to test that?
Make a post, and go around in the game.
Ask every player what the top thing is they'd like to change in the game. If you're ambitious, go for the top 5.
Good luck getting everyone on the forum. Good luck recording every name and idea (as some think that's what GMs should be doing - collecting feedback reports).
Talk to as many players as you can, and compile a list. Let everyone know how many ideas you get.

Thank you Ardesia for finding that post for me. I tried to find it but could not. I appreciate hearing that it will eventually be worked out.

I thought that I was losing my mind for awhile today.

Mad scares me when he goes off like that so I didn't want to argue.

then how about a house on your clanmap where you cant be killed. can think of a few other uses as well.

Really, lol. Even for owner the pvp protected area doesn't allow the owner to attack
