I didn't knew that you got two pets. Gz! Someone bought for you hehe :P 136 lvl staff stans for kill crazed lions is good I think. But we'll you can lvl to 250 without pets and even to 300 .so it depends on you

@ DAVEmanda

As I said:
The support from the people in this thread, and maybe some not posting here but read it anyway, is still mind boggling. And I will say again very much appreciated!
And you kind DAVEmanda are definitely one of those where "appreciation" falls right in line with my gratitude!

@ everyone: Dave took me real estate shopping today checking out five houses in FT World and I gained 2 levels doing it too. He even supplied me with the required {cough cough} bribes to be considered acceptable and trustworthy.

HUGE Thank you Dave!
Oh yea, just so everyone knows, it's not the first time Dave has taken me on a tour of FT World either (questing). ;)

Dave, you are the second person that suggested lvl 136 to get Staff Stan, one via PM - but I asked a Q to start the PM's.
And one suggestion for lvl 150 to get Blitzbees. I like the idea of a ranged pet, Staff Stan, but I like the DEX of the Blitzbees.

Thing is it's kinda like wanting a new computer ... OH look 64 core CPU's but they say the 128 core babies are due out in 6 months. Buy now or wait? Six months later - buy now or wait?
Toss a coin! These are a gift, I will not wait long. I'm at lvl 118 as of this writing
Pick-A-Pet: Show
pick-a-pet.jpg
Let's say one of the last two.

Pets die. Had a pet dog today from Bank Town parked safely in the corner of the Red Monster room under Silverwood City. Yup, I said HAD! Now I'm guessing this was some rich kid that wanted to show off. In comes LOOK-AT-ME(10++) dragging two catapult pets behind him creating swarms everywhere in the room - red-lined me twice ... and as he left I saw he dragged a huge swarm to the enter/exit door - I was fighting two cyclops and dragged them behind me trying to save my dog. I was too late! This LOOK-AT-ME(10++) didn't even bother killing any of the swarms he created ... just walked by dragging his catapults and a swarm everywhere he went. If this had been the game TRON I would have pixelized (new word) myself and gone hunting with a Light Cycle!

I can imagine how bad I would have felt if these had been my "store bought pets". However, I must brace myself as it's bound to happen some day.

Yw)

The bees have good dex but I don't like the damage. It's very low. My archer has them but wel, when I lvl him it's in devils and with fire skill not using pets. I guess that staff stans are good if you want lvl alone and bees are good for explore the ft world because they have a good dex.

Anyways I hope that you can lvl with me in devils soon :) and I show you how to lvl fast with your fire skill. It will be in the house of houses :P there is also 2 mages that gives you 20m xp each for only talk with them :)

if you want to stay in safe places, and mostly grind a select few monsters, I think staff stans are the better choice. If you'd rather go around exploring a bit, and have more options of where to grind, blitzbees may be a better fit... either way, enjoy (and be careful with them loll :D

EDIT: Also, if you know you cannot replace them, you may consider just using 1 at a time... obviously there are a lot of down sides to that, but at least you couldn't lose them both from one mistake ;)

Pets are raising a concern for me. But it will happen. Maybe I'll wait until I'm level 3000 and get some black dragons :)
No I don't think I'll live long enough for that, age has it's limitations. {grin}

Anytime you want to "level with devils" (poetic licence) and see me on line, PM me - I'm always up for trying new stuff. And I definitely want to talk to those mages. Heck I talk to them 20 times a day. Yea yea, only one each. :D

@ blitzcraig

I though of ranged pets because I see what they do from a distance. With me between them and the enemies.
And then there the idea that the blitzbees might be better for exploring wilder places.

To be honest I'm not a big fan of pets, buy a dog if I go mining and and crafting with one other if I need a LOT. But then I rarely keep anything valuable stored with them. I've dropped the cheaper things that are within my backpack and then picked them up again so they are in the pets storage area and the 'valuable stuff' is in my backpack.
EDIT: Also, if you know you cannot replace them, you may consider just using 1 at a time... obviously there are a lot of down sides to that, but at least you couldn't lose them both from one mistake ;)
I've actually though of activating one at a time but then they would become a liability if/when I want to explore and "Shop Pets" work well for what I use them for as seen above. So its a conundrum for me to figure out. I want to use them but I want to use them in the best possible way. :)

And "parking" pets isn't always the answer, especially with users causing swarms to kill them. Today it wasn't on purpose as he was leaving but once I watched my pets being swarmed along with others in the blood mummy room. That was done on purpose!

EDIT: In areas where there are drops (blood mummies) pets are very handy, in areas where there are no drops them become either a hindrance or as I've stated before where people use their pets to suck up huge amounts of enemies and leaving little for others. That's NOT what I want them for:

1. backup - bodyguards
2. park them and use them like that to help fight

One guy going after spiders with his pets in the first level under Sliverwood actually created a swarm around me on purpose because I was walking by to get to the next level and a few bugs started following me instead of going towards his pets. It's not like I stopped and was ruining his spawn it's simply a case of he was creating the spawn in the path where I had to walk. Some people are either mentally challenged or too greedy for their own good and/or have NO IDEA of "fair play".

Question ... I've tried searching but no luck

1. Is there a list of characters and the skills they acquire at specific levels - and what those skills actually do?

ie: The latest skill I have is Flame Sword - I only recently discovered it cost 10% of my health ... BIG CHUNK!
The other two skills I have - I have no idea what they are.

Yeah that file was completely overhauled recently.
Several of us worked on it for months.
I hope, it's a big help.
Even now though, I can see things we didn't add.
Ah well, we can post them on the forum for now, and decide what to add in the next revision.

Kinda fits the "You can come up with the perfect plan but you can't plan perfection!" idea.

Oh It was I read it from top to bottom this time. Rather than using it as a "reference"
I feel sooooo dumb here! I know better, and I know I know better! I just forgot I knew better! {sigh}

Here's something ... a simple web page edit: (Swordman for example)

Always Hit - (Level 30)
- All attacks are critical hits.
- lasts for: x seconds - wait between usage: x seconds

Freeze Sword (Level 60)
- Enemy is immobilized.
- lasts for: x seconds - wait between usage: x seconds

Fire Sword (Level 100)
- Reduces foe's (current) HP by 40% and your HP by 10%.
- lasts for: x seconds - wait between usage: x seconds

Slow (Level 140)
- Reduces enemy attack rate.
- lasts for: x seconds - wait between usage: x seconds

Now if " - lasts for: x seconds - wait between usage: x seconds" is the same for each skill it's only needed once, maybe at the beginning.

Shills
- lasts for: x seconds
- wait between usage: x seconds

Freeze Sword (Level 60)

Tried using the [table] commands but can't get them working right.ur HP by 10%.
